Resorts

Spending 7 or so nights in Koh Samui from around 15 July 2013. Looking for a resort that is not where the nightclubs are but not too far away from nightlife and shopping. Walking distance, say max 15 minutes would be ideal. Looking at around $150 AUD per night. Don't fancy something that caters well to children. Would like something with some atmosphere but not party central. We are in our early 40's with no children. Enjoy good food and drinks. Would want to be on the beach in a room with a beach view.

Focus your search on the Bophut area.

Koh Samui has really blossom these past few years and has open up a lot of new resorts and boutique hotels. I would try to steer you away from Chaweng Beach center hotels and the beach road.and Central Samui beach resorts always never disappoint. It south of the main district and kind of private beach. Remember though that you are on a island and there are many other choices. You can go further north try Nora Buri Resort & Spa. They are a little away from the strip and walkable in 15 min. Enjoy Koh Samui

cheers tommy x and thanks for the tips

As already said : Bophut ...
Have a look at my tip on Zazen Boutique resort & spa.
Higher in price, but all so worthwhile.

Beautiful villas in a tropical garden and on the beach.
It's a place that's mostly visited without kids.

    Staff is super-friendly and helpful.
The food is really really good ... We haven't eaten anywhere else for dinner when we were there.
It's been some time since we were there, but I keep checking the reviews and they're all still excellent.

Bophut indeed doesn't have the nightlife like Chaweng knows it, but after all it's only a short taxiride away ...
