Arriving mid week in February and would like to book a beach front bungalow in Ko Samet. I would be grateful for any recommendations for somewhere quiet but within walking distance of bars and restaurants approx 2500 baht per night. Also approx cost of getting from the ferry to resort. Thanks in advance Derek
These two websites should have most of the information you need. I forgot how much the ferry is I believe around 150 THB. If you take the ferry you will have to pay the 400 THB entrance fee to the national park. Sometimes but I've heard both sides of the coin, if you take a speedboat you can avoid the park entry fee. The two times I took the speed boat I avoided the entry fee. Check with the hotel you choose and they should have their own speedboat or ferry for a lot cheaper than the hawkers at Ban Phe will be asking. koh-samet.org/koh-samet-reso... http://www.kosamet.net/
