      Cooking class

      Phuket May 29, 2013 at 1:31 AM

      Hello
I was looking at doing a Thai cooking class while in Phuket in a couple of months. Around Patong or Karon etc
I am looking for something not to expense as I don't have to biggest budget. Even if it's just for a couple/few hours.

      Anyone got any recommendations?
      Thanks :)

Hello, I am going to Thailand in July with two other friends. I am having a bit of trouble finding nice accommodation that allows 3 people in one room.
Our budget is about $25-$50 each a night and we would like somewhere preferably as close to the beach as possible in Patong.
Any suggests would be great that I could take a look at :)

    • Should we get package deal with the Phra Nang Inn?

Southern Thailand Jun 4, 2013 at 5:11 PM

We are considering getting a package deal at the Phra Nang Inn on Ao Nang Beach, Krabi. A reduced rate for a couple of days and nights, including transportation from airport and 2 tours. We are planning this because we have never been to Thailand before (once we know a place well we do things ourselves). Is this a good decision? Have any of you had experience with package deals at hotels around Krabi?

      Thanks

    • Which is the best place to stay in Koh Samui in June - July

Ko Samui Jun 5, 2013 at 12:04 AM

I along with my wife and 1yr baby are planning a trip to Koh Samui in this summer.
Last year I stayed at Bo Phut for honeymoon. It was an excellent place for honeymoon, but fewer dining places.

This time I want to stay at even better place, where I can get more dining options at walking distance, and a seven eleven, must be a beach, where I can walk with my wife n kid, and relax, which must not be crowded.

      Any suggestions???

We hope to visit either Phi Phi Don or Koh Rascha yai in mid October. We understand this is towards the end of the rainy season. How likely are we to be rained out? Also I've read boat cancellations are common, for these island how likely is this to happen?
Also we plan to do some snorkeling. I've heard the water is always warm, but in october can the weather create bad conditions in the water?

      place to stay for honeymooner

Ko Samui May 23, 2013 at 10:04 PM

We are planning to go to koh samui as part of our honeymoon trip, end of june 2013. You guys have any suggestion on the best place to stay? Within the range of 1000bht to 3000bht per night. I don't really mind about the areas, because we can go around Koh Samui by motorbike or car right? As long as there is a place to eat, to do water activities.

Do you know halal restaurant or roadside stall?

      Thank you

Help! My 17-year-old son wants to travel with a teen tour group to Phang-Nga, but I have read about the various poisonous snakes and spiders...This just doesn't seem like a wise first independent travel experience to me. Can anyone tell me how worried I should be? I'm puzzled that travel groups bring inexperienced teens to a place with so many dangers at hand. Thanks for any help you can give-

Is flying to Surat Thani the better option? Will it be easy for me to get to the pier, and also do I need to book the ferry ticket in advance? Cheers!

    • Snorkeling / Diving Booking Recommendations & Zip-line / Elephant Trekking worth it?

by LADon Online Now Aug 25, 2011 at 3:20 AM

Hi All, I am going to be in Ko Phangan for the September full moon party and staying in Ban Tai Beach. I've never been diving before so I was looking up a bunch of dive places and was thinking about going with Reefers for diving but it is kind of pricey for my budget (quoted 3500 BHT). I was wondering if anybody would recommend a less expensive (while still reputable & safe) dive group. I kind of like reefers right now b/c their sales staff has been nice/responsive via e-mail. Also, if I end up not going diving bc it is too expensive... I would at least like to go snorkeling. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations of people/tour companies that I could book a nice snorkeling adventure with. Pricing/contact information would be much appreciated. I was also thinking about skipping diving b/c then maybe I could go on the zip-line or elephant trekking. I saw an adventure offered through safari travel but the company's reviews are either really good or really terrible... I would greatly appreciate pricing/contact info on where I might go to book zip-lining or elephant trekking or if I can just sign-up with the vendors themselves. Thank you so much!

We plan to arrive on the island on the 27th Dec. We do not wish to be at the centre of the full moon party so will stay anywhere on the island for new year. Going by the net, there is no accommodation left on the island, however we were told by a friend that as we are not fussy as to what beach we stay and are arriving a few days before New Year the at we should get somewhere to stay upon arrival. Does any1 know if this should be the case. She also told us we will have many reps approaching us when we get off the boat trying to sell ur accommodation. I am just worried we may not find anywhere at this very busy time of year!! any advice would be great :)

I heard that the beaches are somewhat polluted and phangan is a better alternative. I don't want to be completely secluded though. Anyway, I have two questions: 1) Besides Full Moon what is the night scene in Phangan 2) In general how do these palces match up You guys have been so helpful and I really appreciate the feedback. Hey everyone. I booked a flight to KPG from Dec-26 to Jan-2, and I've scourged the net for a place to book in, only to get 'fully booked' replies. I've checked around 50 places posted on sawadee.com/hotels/kohphanga..., and none of the ones that are 'relatively' walking distance to Haad Rin had any rooms. So if any of the members on VT has some contact info of unlisted on this site, or live there, can give me some tips, I beg you to do so :P TIA. Charles

I looked through the pictures for both resorts and I love the vibes I am getting from Santhiya. Fro several reviews I gathered that Santiburi is also really great but I feel the rooms in Santhiya or Melati are much bigger and many have attached private pools. Whic of the 3 resorts would you recomend for an ultimate honeymoon getaway? Santhiya Melati Santiburi Thanks!!!!

Hi, we're 3 guys heading to KPN for the FMP in July. We're looking to split up into two rooms. Are there any good recommendations for villas or bungalows that have this type of accomodation. We're not picky, just two rooms with the option of twin or queen/king sized beds and a/c. Budget is probably around 1500 to 2000 bht. Also, we're also looking to stay the minimum of 3 nights only (2 nights seems impossible but if anyone knows pls share) as we don't have enough leave. Also if there's recommendations for 2 rooms/huts/houses side by side not in a single bungalow or villa we're open as well. Our sole purpose is the FMP so I guess we want somewhere not too far from Haad Rin.
