What is the best way to reach Ao Thong from Hat Rin. I have heard that overland is brutal. Thanks, MC
hi, haad rin to tong nay pan is done by longtail which you can pick up from the beach or pier at haad rin, or taxi from haad rin pier where taxis will be waiting for the boat from bophut to come in. the road was wonse a nightmare to travel on but i went on it 2 years ago and they was making a good road over. les

I suggest long tail boat.....depend though on budget... Taxi will take you from Haad Rin to Tong Sala for about 100b ea (used to be as cheap as 30B).....from there you can grab another taxi to TNP for another 100B, no more....so up to 200B ea and a couple hrs of your time. Long tail is going to run1200 B for 45-1hr trip up the coast. If you have more ppl, divide the rate, cheaper. We took a long tail last yr and loved it....have done twice....for me its the best way to arrive at TNP....walking knee deep in water to the beach with your pack over your head....its arriving in style! Is flying the only option for you otherwise take a overnight bus/ferry to Koh Phangan. this will not cost no more than... more
Koh Phangan is probably more enjoyable if you are a teenager who wants to get wasted with other kids or a doper. Just... more
