    • Ko Lipe in June

by iax2290 Online Now Apr 11, 2013 at 4:53 AM

I am hoping to travel to Ko Lipe in early June but have read mixed things about the weather. Firstly I was wondering how difficult it wil be to get there - I know there is only 1 boat a day in the green season. Secondly, what will the weather actually be like? I'm prepared for it to rain but don't want to bother travelling all the way there if it is just going to be cloudy, rainy, and windy! Lastly, if we did go I would love to do some boat trips etc. but I have heard the sea can be very rough, would it be too bad to do trips around the national park at that time?
Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks

    • Getting from Langkawi to Ko Lipe

by EmiToe Online Now Mar 15, 2013 at 7:24 AM

      Hi!
I was thinking about taking a small trip to Ko Lipe, Thailand during my stay in Langkawi. However, I am a bit confused on how to get there. I understand there is ferries between the islands, but that they only operate from October to April? I will stay on Langkawi from April 29 - May 8. Is it impossible to get to Ko Lipe and back? I did find a site who allowed me to book tickets, but on www.kohlipethailand.com it says that there is no direct ferry from Langkawi to Koh Lipe in May.

      Thanks in advance

      Satun to Koh Lipe

by cheekin22 Online Now Aug 2, 2012 at 2:10 AM

Greetings, I bought an air ticket to Langkawi in early of October. Unfortunately, I notice the ferry to Koh Lipe only operate from the end of October onwards. So I think my alternative way to Koh Lipe is to take the ferry from Langkawi to Satun (the name is Tammalang pier?) Then from Satun pier travel to Pak Bara to catch the ferry to Koh Lipe. (Seem like a long journey). Is there any ferry travel directly from Satun to Koh Lipe in October? May I know how far from the Satun pier to Pak Bara? Any public transport to go to Pak Bara from Satun pier and how much? Many thanks.

Hi team mates, I will drive by myself to PakBara Pier. May I know is there any safe car park for my car to over 1 night? I wish to travel to Ko Lipe by passing through Khao Yai and Tarutao island to see the beauty of Andaman Sea. After that drop by Koh Khai to see the natural Stone Arch, then only to Koh Lipe. If the price quoted based on requirement above is 1200baht/person and including return ticket. Do you think the price is fair enough? Please advice. Thanks! Regards Marcus

Advice - Ko Lipe yes or no?

by travelinchen Online Now Jan 22, 2011 at 1:35 PM

Hi, my boyfriend and I are going to sothern thailand beginning of March and I still have no good idea where we should go. We're both interested in snorkeling and relaxing at a wonderful beach in a Hammock with as few other tourists as possible - that's it *haha*. Ko Lipe looks fantastic on all the pictures, but I read a lot of mixed reviews on the internet. Given our intests, would you recommend it or rather not? If not, can you think of an alternative? Thanks so much in advance

    • Best way from Ko Lipe to Kuala Lumpur

by lundsten Online Now Dec 6, 2009 at 12:54 PM

Hi! Me and my family are going to Koh Lipe in mid January. After that we would like to, as fast as possible, get to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). Is it best to take a boat to Langkawi and take a flight from there to Kuala Lumpur? Or go to the mainland of Thailand and fly from Trang or Hat Yai, if thats possible? Or any other way? Thank You! Josefine

by lundsten Online Now Dec 6, 2009 at 12:46 PM

Hi! We are thinking about taking a boat from Langkawi(Malaysia)to Koh Lipe (Thailand)but how do we get the visa for Thailand on the way? Is there a boarder crossing somwhere on the way or do they check aour passports when arriving to Koh Lipe? We have 15 days without Visa for Thailand as Swedish (it's enough)but I guess they still want to check our passports, or do we need to take the rout by the mainland? Thankful for all answers! Ko Lipe?

by Travelnerd Online Now Nov 23, 2007 at 1:16 PM

I am travelling around S-E Asia in December, considering spending some days at Ko Lipe in mid Dec. What is it like at this island? Where is a good place to stay? Or are there other places nearby that I should rather go to? I am looking for a quiet and relaxing place, but i would like to find a bar there. Appreciate all help.

    • beds in a bungalow

by egrave7 Online Now Aug 30, 2006 at 6:37 PM

Perhaps this is a silly question but I haven't found the answer. How many beds are usually in a bungalow and are they single/double/queen? I'm going with a group of 4 girls and we're willing to share double beds. Just trying to figure out how many bungalows we'll need to rent. Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.
