Understand that there are minibus/van services from the Krabi airport to Ko Lanta, is this correct?
Has anyone tried the services before?
What's the timetable and the price for the service? I'll arrive in Krabi airport at 2pm.
How long will the journey takes?
Do I still need to arrange the boat service separately if I travel by minibus/van?
I'm planning to go & stay in Phra Ee Beach first before explore to other places in Lanta.

Airport is on the way from Krabi town and Ko-Lanta it would take about two hours to get there the cost is a fixes price, as you get to arrival all a lot of people would take you where you want, there are also some agencies. I do suggest a taxi avoiding to be squeezed by your neighbour and luggage in a minivan, they tend to fill all seats before they leave.

As said above the fastest and best way is to take a taxi. It takes about 2 hours to Phra Ae Beach incl the two car ferries. The taxi cost you about 2000 THB.

This site is quite helpful but if you have the money and want to get there in a hurry take a taxi..I have been to Koh Lanta several times since 1991 and always enjoyed this beautiful island. Rent a motorbike and explore the island, you will come across some great beaches.
Why don't you see if your resort has a pick up service. If not there will be plenty of touts offering their services for you when you exit the arrival lounge.

IF you opt for the minibus, then it passes 2 small carferries, included, The most tourist think they have to go to Krabi and take the big ferry-not for cars, but that is nonsense. But when buying ticket DO make sure that it actually goes that far- some minibuses stop at lanta major=quite small town just after ferry.
I also wish that people would not decide for others to have to spend such large sums by only telling that its better.

Of course it must be the best way taking a taxi of your own all the way to your resort. If you read my post you may notice that I have not told him to do this. It´s just information....

Yes, I understand that hire a private taxi which cost around 2,500baht is the better option and could reach directly to the desired destination.
But due to budget constrain, I would like to try a cheaper option & the minibus/van seems meet my need.
