I go to Ko Chang in January (26) and plan to go to Lonely Beach but want to book before I go. Found something on Klong Prao but not sure where it is in relation to Lonely Beach. Does anyone know if there is a map of Ko Chang which gives distances and beaches? Also I have to fly back from KL and not sure how long it will take? (bus/train or plane) which is best? Any info would be welcome

Hello, I'm off to Ko Chang with friends and family in a couple of weeks. We really want to go somewhere close to Bangkok as we only have 12 days, so Ko Chang seemed to be the sensible option. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to stay (budget but nice - looking to spend maybe £10-£15 per night) and what to do when we are there? Or, if you think i should head somewhere else i'd be glad to know also, thanks
Hi, Could anybody recommend any companies or travel agents that organize transfers from Koh Chang to Siem Reap? Is it a safe way to travel? Thanks in advance for all advices!!! Neil&Dora
Hi everyone, Can you please help me. I'm going to Thailand for the 1st time in October. After spending a few days in Bangkok and then I want to head south. I've been reading around and narrowed my search to either Ko Chang or Koh Saumu. Can anyone make a recommendation on which is best? I'm looking for something thats fairly quite but not too quite. Generally away from the 'partying' crowds and 'girly bars' Somewhere with nice beaches, somewhere to chill out, kayak, preferably near nature reserves and nice local food. Thanks in advance
Sorry in advance for the long post. I am going to Thailand in December - January with some Thai friends. I have been given the option of a 4 day/3night trip to Phuket or a 4 day/3 night trip to Ko Kut. Previously, I visited Ko Samet with my friends which was very enjoyable. We stayed in a beach cottage on a fairly secluded bay with a very nice clean beach. There was a much busier beach a short walk away with many more tourists which was fun to see for an evening and good for food and drinks, but not really my thing. I preferred the quiet beach, walking, swimming, snorkeling, canoeing, and the lovely locals we met. However, knowing that Phuket / Krabi / Phi Phi are considered some of the most beautiful scenic areas in the world, it is a bit hard to pass up a trip there. I also know that Ko Kut is going to be about half the price of a stay in Phuket. Can anyone with experience help me out with this decision? In Phuket, we would be traveling with a friend who lives nearby, so would having a car give us options to visit places more secluded but still spectacular? Can the scenery of Ko Kut possibly live up to the Andaman coast?
Hi, can someone tell me the best way to travel from trat to pattaya, not public transport. There are 3 of us, roughly how much will it cost. Thanks
I have always wanted to visit Ko chang but can only get there in August which I understand is the wet season. Is it worth visiting then? We dont mind some rain showers as long as the sun appears in between! How busy would the island be then, don't fancy being the only ones in the resorts!

Hi, I am trying to narrow down a cool place to stay in lonely beach, inexpensive, with character, close to , or on a beach with sand. I have heard good things about The Nature Beach Resort, but would love to find out more from someone who has stayed there. I understand they have no website or email? But its hard to even find pictures or any feedback on the resort. Would love your help! Going to Koh Chang the middle of February. Thanks so much!
Hi everyone, we are planning to travel to Ko Chang around mid March, for a week or so. Our doctor tells us from their charts that the island is a malaria risk, more so than the rest of Thailand. What do you think are genuinely the risks here? We are trying to get away without taking any anti-malarial drugs, as we are concerned with the side effects they may have. We would appreciate any advice if you have first hand knowledge of this. Thanks!

hi - we are going to Koh Chang in February this year and we are staying at the Tropicana Hotel on Klong Prao beach - can anyone tell me what the hotel or area are like - are there shops etc in this area and is it far from White Sands? Many thanks.
The choice is between KC Grand Resort in White Sands beach, or Siam Beach resort in Lonley Beach.....?? Help! I have been studying Koh Chang, and have narrowed down these two spots...KC is in white sands, is it really that noisy and crowded on that beach??,,,,,or is Siam on Lonely beach, or too quiet down there? My friend and I are not into the party scene, but like to go out for a drink and mingle, and we like to be around some people with choices of restaurants and things to do...would apperciate any feedback from ones who have been or live there...thanks so much!! Oh by the way , we are going the 3rd week in february if that helps or makes a difference! Thanks again!
I spent a few weeks on Lonely Beach back in March, and remember there being talk of the Treehouse closing down. Although I wasn't staying in their huts, I found the place along with Nature Rocks a fun place to hang out in the evenings. Does anyone know if the Treehouse on Lonely Beach is still open, and, if possible, for how long ? (am thinking of going back in January!)
Has anyone stayed here before? I want to contact to the resort directly for some inquiry. Anyone knows the email address or telephone no. of the resort? Or any feedback about this resort is appreciated. This is my first time to Koh Chang with 2 kids under 5yrs old. Thanks!

Hi! Any info about Klong Prao Beach (I think it is the next beach to south from White sand beach)? How is the water here? Clean? Clear? Nice and blue? is it very deep or shallow/save to swim? And how is the ocean in July? very strong waves/currents? Is there any shops + tailors + restaurants near Klong Prao? Any comments about the hotel Klong Prao resort?
is there nightlife in w.s.b. or is better to take 2 or 3 books? thanks v.m.
I am trying to find out if there is a direct boat service from Ko Chang to Ko Samui, and if so how often and approx costing????
I've heared many good things about these two island but I have problems finding transportation from Bangkok. Well, I know I can take the bus down to one of the quays, but I don't know how to get out to Ko Mak or Ko Kood. I see that resort hotels offer speedboat service. Would it be best to buy such a package or are there ferries to these islands? And when I got your attention; any recommendations for hotels/bungalows? A friend told me many good things about Shambala Resort on Ko Kood. I will be there in mid November. Best wishes, Anders
