What is it like weather-wise in December? Are there popular attractions which are closed? Is the weather unreasonable for a December stay? Thanks.

Only if you consider wind, rain and occasional frost to be unreasonable. It's a temperate climate here. Not sure if Kilkenny Castle is closed in December, but you could probably still explore its gardens if the castle is closed. el puss

Thanks. I don't expect sunshine and balminess, but I don't want to be totally wet and miserable for a week either!

Depends what you're used to. I'm from England, so it was no big surprise for me. it just gave me more of an excuse to pop into all those cosy little pubs!
