Yes, I am familiar with Keys although I have not used them. I have fronted several tours to the region and know of them because of it. This operator has been around for a couple of decades, and it is a small family run business. keys-hotel-tours.com/about-u... I had not thought of them until your query so I looked them up to see what has changed if anything. It appears to be still running fine as a fairly budget operator, and their hotels appear to be well run, but I cannot tell for sure. They are fairly budget as well. What is important, is that they are members of all the appropriate tour operator associations, as you can see on their "About Us" page. That includes TATO which is important. You will find them on the Members page. http://www.tatotz.org/ Yes, I do know some reliable operators in Tanzania, although most of the ones I am really familiar with, ar fairly high end. If budget is what you are after, I think Keys will do just fine, but I can elaborate on some others if you want. You can start by looking at the numerous operators listed as TATO members. Good luck and I know you will enjoy Tanzi.....d:o)

I know from personal experience that the ground operators that offer direct booking through Kilimanjaro Journeys are top notch. They got me up on a second bid after a disastrous first try with another ground operator. They pay their porters fairly, support the porter association, and have top notch guides, safety and professionalism. They really made me feel confident and secure after my first bad experience. If you're really haven't decided to commit yet, you should look at their bona fides and climb offerings at http://www.kilimanjarojourneys.com/

Although I am mostly suspicious and reluctant to accept any advise from someone that joined VT the same day they made a tour operator recommendation, and that is all they did, - I will say that I agree, that Kili Journeys is a good reliable operator. Please understand that we get many operator advertisements, and your name sounds like it could be an agent. All such advertisements are deleted. The only reason I did not report it as such, - is that I agree with the recommendation as to Kili Journeys. They are indeed a good operator, and one of those that are still good even though they are not members of TATO, which as we all know are, let's say, a bit political.
