Shannon airport is my final destination but I have to stop first at Heathrow to change planes on this last leg of my flight. I want to know if I will be going through Customs at Heathrow OR at Shannon Airport (or would it be both??).
My flight originates in the US. Thank you so much!
I've seen 2 websites with 2 different answers for the opening times for this abbey. One says it will close after August 28 2014 and the other says mid-September 2014. I tried emailing them but I don't think anyone is monitoring the emails at this time of year. Anyone know for sure? I'm trying to arrange flights from Canada to Dublin and the date is important since I'd rather come in September and not August. I guess you can't wander about the grounds off-season?
We will be visiting the ring of kerry area in May. We will be walking part of the way and was looking for advice on where to stay. We are looking for towns where we could hear some irish music. Would I have to book ahead or it being May would I be early enough in the season to book as I go. Over the years we usually travel to Europe in May and booking on the spot isn't a problem. Of course we will be spending at least a night in Killarney. How about Kenmare and Glenbeigh?
I was wondering if for example we walked from Kenmare to Sneem and wanted to more to another town that was more lively would hitch hiking be an option.
I have got a job offer from cork,Ireland and will get salary approx. 3,600 euros/month. Could anyone let me know (1) how much will be net income after reduction of all type taxes etc. (2) and living cost (for a single person including rent house (1 bed apartment is fine), food, etc)
My good friend and I (both females in our early 30s) will be traveling to Ireland at the beginning of April this year, and have started to make our itinerary, but would greatly appreciate some suggestions:
April 7th - Arrive in Dublin at 5:45 am, rent a car, and drive to Galway. Explore Galway and stay in Galway
April 8th - Explore the Connemara area and stay in Galway.
April 9th - Drive to Cliffs of Moher, Burrens, and Limerick (1 hr 18 mins from Galway). Stay in Limerick.
April 10th - Drive to Dingle (2 hr 7 mins from Limerick), take the Slea Head drive, stay in Dingle.
April 11th - Spend another day in Dingle, stay in Dingle.
April 12th - Drive to Cork to visit the Blarney stone (2 hr 24 mins from Dingle), then drive to onto Kilkenny (1 hr 49 mins from Cork). Stay in Kilkenny.
April 13th - Explore Kilkenny in the morning, then drive to Dublin (1 hr 31 minutes), stay in Dublin.
April 14th - Tour the Guinness brewery in Dublin in the morning, and get ready for our flight home at 3:45 pm.
Are we expecting to see/do too much in the time that we have available? I would greatly appreciate any suggestions as to where to stay, what to see, where to eat, etc.
Thank you in advance!
We are flying into Dublin for two days, then taking a short flight to Scotland for four days, then come back to Ireland for a driving tour outside Dublin. The flight to Scotland only allows for a small bag on the flight. Is there somewhere safe to store our larger bags while we are out of the country that's cheap/safe? We won't be staying in the same hotel after our return to Ireland.
This summer we are planning a visit round the Uk. We booked a flight from Liverpool to Dublin for the 27th -28th July .We want to spend a night there .What was our surprise we couldnt find a decent place at a good price . As you can imagine we are on a budget so could anyone suggest a place to stay near ther centre . That weekend most places are sold out the day we need to stay or are very expensive .
Also while I am here I would be grateful for any information to help us during our day and half stay . thank you very much :)
