Short term apartment renting through internet

I am trying to find and rent an apartment in Kiev online with the help of some agencies I have find while using google. All of them insist to have some prepayment for 1-2 nights in order my reservation to be considered done. I know it's normal but I have heard lately a LOT about fraud with credit cards online, about agencies that work only virtually to take your money and dissapear, about shown online apartments that are not for rent in reality... This is why I would like to ask fellow VT members who have used such agencies to help me find a really serious one, because I am flying to Kiev on 22.08.2007. Thank you in advance!
