What is the best way to get to the cruise terminal in Kiel from Hamburg.
Going by train is definitely the easiest option. There are direct regional trains between Hamburg and Kiel once an hour, see bahn.de/i/view/GBR/en/index.... When you get to Kiel it's probably easiest for you to get a taxi to the cruise terminal, but it's just a five minute walk, should you want to walk.

Yes, train is safe, comfortable and easy. My preferred English link is: reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/qu... You do not need to buy tickets in advance online. There are direct trains. Standard one-way fare for the ICE train option is 27 euro, but this is not the fastest. The direct regional train will be cheaper, and faster.
