Together with my wife and our 6 months baby I shall be in Miami in a couple of days and we're were planning to spend a day driving around Florida Keys. Do you recommend such a drive during this time of the year? Should we opt to reach Key West or you suggest we stop before to make the road shorter especially back to Miami?
Any feedback is very much appreciated!
my wife wants to go out dancing to 80"s disco music, I read about a bar/restaurant that had entertainment ....maybe drag until midnight and then dancing to 80's music afterwards, but I forgot the name. Anyone help? Thanks!
Bus route web site not available.
Where can we find information on the bus that travels to Stock Island?
Is there public transportation to Sugar Loaf Key?
what is proper attire for dinner at latitudes restaurant
We are spending a couple of days in the Keys during November and have booked a reasonable mote in Key Largol to crash in on the night we arrive at Miami Airport (a Wednesday). It was our intention to spend the next couple of nights at Key West so we would have two free days with little or no driving and luggage in our car. Whilst we knew accommodation would be more expensive in Key West, I have been astounded by how much more expensive, ie very little choice less than £200 per night ($300?). Our budget will not run to these prices unfortunately and we are wondering how far out of Key West we need to be to get something more reasonably priced. We are not youngsters who want to get drunk and do a pub crawl around Duval Street, we would just like to look around the town, see the sunsets and eat a nice dinner. Any recommendations for cheap and clean motels as close to Key West as possible (just to use as a base) would be greatly appreciated..
We would love to find a reasonable priced, 2 bdrm. vacation rental near or on Duval St . Also, would like to have a balcony to sit and watch the world go by. Any advice, or am I just dreaming of finding this? ? Wynonna
We are planning to spend the new year weekend holidays in Key west and are planning to do some snorkeling in Key West and Dry Tortugas, but have begun to read some disappointing reviews of water and wind conditions there. Some of the private sail boat charters strongly recommended against snorkeling in December since they expect rough/cold waters. I have been reading mixed reviews about water conditions in December. I'm wondering if there is a stronger than normal current in December versus another time of the year. I was also wondering if snorkelling is better in Key Largo compared to Key West? We are planning to stay in Key Largo. We were planning to take a private sail boat charter for snoekeling to get away from the crowds.
I guess I am hoping for someone to say "snorkeling in West will be GREAT in December!" - but please be honest about any pros and cons you can think of.
Thanks in advance!
we (family of 4) have two days at key west left. already did a package water sports. what are the important things to do in next two days? we do have a car.
Appreciate your input.
Is there public parking available at Mallory Square, especially at sunset.
So many to choose from...which would you suggest....two of us..possible small dog.....
we're headin to key west in december and would like some first hand suggestions on an upscale hotel with balconies, beach and ocean views (close to duval street if possible). thanks
I know there is a sunset celebration in Mallory Square with street performers, i'm trying to find out if there are performances during the day down in the keys and if so, where is the best place to see them
I am looking for a certain tee that a friend picked up for me in Key West. It is a cropped, boxy tee that the tag on the neck says U.S. Vintage, established 1965, made in Pakistan, 100% cotton, athletic dept. I guess what I am looking for is the name & phone number of the shop(s) that sell them. Thank you!
Have a hotel reserved (Silver Palms Inn on Truman Ave) for later this month and from the little bit of research I've done I know me and my boyfriend would like to check out Duval street as well as south beach and ft zachary taylor beach. If we are out at night and wanting to walk back to our hotel, what street route would be safest as far as being well-lit and minimal crime? I assume we'll try to get a taxi or something if we've been drinking but not sure how easy that is down there. Thanks to everyone who can respond!
where is the best place to snorkel and go deep sea fishing
are there any salsa dancing places in key west?
If money is no object what in your opinion is the best hotel room in key west? The two bedroom suite photos of the ocean key resort look nice. But maybe you guys have a favorite? Thanks!
I saw on the internet that the city of key west is in the works with traffic in the asphalt of the streets. I wonder if this harms the tourist, if there is any problem to visit the city in July 2013. We would like to stay in there and we have doubts about this. Thanks Dori
where is mile marker 6 in key west
Where is a good place to start when trying to rent a vacation property in Key West?
Are there any good salsa clubs in key west for Cinco De Mayo?
My wife & I will be going to Key West in May to celebrate our 40th birthdays. Looking for information from locals, such as must-do's, must-see's, etc. Also, anything we should expect or be prepared for that time of year, like crowds, gatherings, parking, getting around? What's the best beach for relaxing? Safe local bar, club for dancing? Any neighborhoods we should avoid after dark? Anyway, looking for insider tips!
We'll more than likely be staying at the Inn at Key West. Before we commit to that, any suggestions on the hotel would be nice, too.
About us...From Northern Minnesota, looking forward to some beach time, relaxation, shopping, dining, drinks, nightlife. Maybe a tour and/or kayaking? On a bit of a budget, so we'd be looking for frugal suggestions. We're only there for 3 nights, and with drive time there & back, we'll have Thurs evening, all day Fri, and all day Sat to cram in as much stuff as we can!
I may visit Key West around March 6th, but that seems like the prime time period for all of the "college spring break" crowds. If I want to avoid this crowd, is there any way around it? Or is my time period just not going to work out for me? If so, I may choose another destination for my week long FL trip... not sure where yet. I live in Orlando so I'd able to just drive out wherever in FL for that week. Have not done much traveling here except for towns along the I-4.
Ok first things first, me and 2 of my buddies are looking to go to Key West for 4 nights and 3 days towards the end of March. The best rates I am seeing is for Sunrise Suites, and I would like to know what everyone thinks of it, specifically people that are going to KW looking to party. Near enough to the beach? Cheap enough to take cabs downtown and back every night? We are all on student budgets!
Also, and probably more importantly, my friends are being a pain about this and not sure if they want to do KW. I've only done KW once, and it was the best time of my life. They have never been. Can someone please talk a little about what it is like to be single and partying in Key West in March, when colleges are all on spring break? Also, Does it matter at all that we would go Mon-Fri, and not be there for any friday night or saturday night, or is it the same every night?
How much do you think the average male would spend a day, if just on food and drinking? (we plan to do more, but this is the main budget lol)
To anyone who responds, seriously thank you, it is GREATLY appreciated, esp if it helps get me there!
My husband and I are thinking of going to Key West for our 10 year anniversary and I am worried there isn't going to be enough to do there to keep my husband occupied for 7 days? I don't have to do something all the time and neither does he, but can't do nothing most of the time either. Also the hotel we were looking at is the Southernmost Hotel on the Beach. Is that a good hotel? Any help of tips would be good.
Hi. I will be visiting early February and looking for a free place to pitch my NF tent. I have read Leo's, Byrd etc. I am looking for something different. Any suggestions?? Can I just set up on the beach?? Thank you

My mom and I are thinking of visiting Key West the week of Christmas for a week. Any tips from anyone? Is it a fun time to be there, or is it way too crowded? We've never been, so am looking for advice. We do like to have a cocktail or 2 and love beautiful sunsets and warm weather. I like what I've read about Key West in terms of the eclectic vibe.
My husband and I are thinking of getting away from cold NYC in December (last week of Dec). We have just a couple of simple requirements - (1) weather/temperature wise: in the 70s but no high humidity, no rain or not too much rain (2) just to hang out by the water and good restaurants. We have several of places in mind - Hawaii: a no brainer as we have been there but wanted to check out places we've never been to before: Bermuda or Key West.
What's the temp like in Key West at the end of the year? We have not pin down where in Key West we will be going. So any suggestions on that will be helpful as well.
just wondering if the bars and clubs allow 18+ girls or if everyone has to be 21? planning a bachelorette party nd one of the girls is only 19 r 20.
