Great Alaskan Lumberjack show looks like fun with kids. What about Ketchikan Totem Bight? Native American Center Museum? advice with 8 hours in town for party of ten ages 3 - 71.
The lumberjack show is good. They split the crowd into teams, so there is fun involvement.

There is a decent little natural history museum in Ketchikan, which is near the lumberjack show. We also did the trip to the Saxman native village, which was tacky at times (dances where they got the audience members to participate), but also interesting at times (got to see totem poles being carves and were taught about the meanings of the various symbols on the poles). Ketchikan was out least favorite of the Alaska towns in which we stopped. We thought that Juneau and Skagway were much more interesting.
