We are going on an Alaskan cruise in May and will have only 7 hours in Ketchikan. We are wondering if anyone has a suggestion on what to do there for the limited amount of time that we have.
When our cruise ship docked in Ketchikan, it was a beautiful, warm, sunny day. So, we took a plane ride aver the fjords. It was magnificent! You might be able to book a flight prior to arriving in Ketchikan, but there are vendors all over the place as you disembark the ship. If the weather is bad, my suggestion is to go to the Lumberjack Show.

See the lumberjack show. There's also a museum somewhere close to that area to visit too. Also, we did this tour with lois, she was fun. www.classictours.com Hope you get to take a tour with Lois.

Ketchikan is wonderful. Lots to do. Be sure to walk back to Creek Street. It was the red-light district, but is now quaint shops with the creek running through it and some nice walking/hiking paths. Also, a flightseeing with a crab dinner at George Inlet is wonderful, or just a flightseeing of Misty Fjords. Do a Google search for Ketchikan visitors bureau and you will find ALL KINDS of information. Good Luck and HAVE A BLAST!
