Visa on Arrival

by nosdrahcir Online Now Jul 31, 2006 at 8:46 AM

I'm going on honeymoon to Mombasa, but we have a connection in Nairobi. Will the Visa be given at Nairobi or Mombasa? How long does this take? The flights (Kenya Airways) have only 1hr15 between landing and next departure - I'm concerned that this won't be long enough. I can get a Visa before departure, but I've been told they won't issue one for my wife to be, because her new passport is post-dated.

I've never had a transfer at Nairobi airport, but isn't it usually the case that if you have connecting flights you don't go through immigration at the transfer airport, but just go from your arrival gate to the departure gate for your next flight? And only when you arrive in Mombasa would you leave the actual airport area and go through customs and immigration. I'm sure Kenya Airways will be able to give you accurate information on this.

Check with the Kenyan Embassy in the UK.We have been told by many tourists that the VISA experience can be quite a problem ---We are getting ours prior to departure in Toronto Canada.regards dziadziu

When I called the embassy they said my fiancee couldn't get a visa to travel under her married name until we were married, even though she has the passport already. So we'll have to hope for the best on arrival!

When we arrived in nairobi people were picking up their visas before exiting the airport.. it can take around half an hour.... there are loads of connections between nairobi to mombassa so you will get on the next flight ok if you miss it
