A friend and I will be passing through Louisville in early January. We won't have much time - an overnight with a good part of the day on either side. Looking for recommendations for a cool motel/hotel/hostel and a fun neighborhood to stroll around in. What we're not: shoppers, clubbers, or sight see-ers. Tips for a reasonable restaurant with good libations are welcome. We won't have much time, so we're not trying to do and see everything, just want to bum around and get and get an impression of the place, meet the friendly locals. :)
My boyfriend and I are going to Mammoth Cave as part of a road trip this fall. I see there are a lot of options for tours. Any suggestions? We're more interested in cave features & scenery not the historic stuff.
In what part of the state is Ft. Thomas, Kentucky located?
Does anyone remember a place called the Dixie Trailer Park? I lived there in 1969, when I was nine years old. None of our mail from this time has any address, other than Dixie Trailer Park, so I am unable to locate it on aerial photos. If any one can help me out with where it would be (if it had survived over the years)I would be thankful. I would like to check out my old stomping grounds via satellite pictures. Thanks Stacy
I will be at the Hyatt Regency Lexington and will be with 2 people who are diabetic. I was looking at the menus of the restaurants near the hotel and they don't seem to have much for diabetic people. Does anyone have any recommendations on where I can take my diabetic friends? Thank you in advance.
I will be flying into Lexington at the beginning of August and will be there for 5 days. Does anyone have any suggestions for things to do, sights to see and places to eat at? Any tips to make my stay in Lexington perfect would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Will there be fireworks on the 4th of July at the park or nearby area? Thanks.
I am wondering if anyone reading this has taken horses to Natural Bridge. It has a reputation for "losing" hikers to the cliffs and so I wonder what dangers we would find when riding our horses there. My friends are hesitant to go because of this dangerous reputation. Any other comments with regard to riding there would also be appreciated.
Seems like they've been revamping this tour recently, so I don't know what I'd get if we stopped. We have two smaller kids, and if there is still a self-guided tour around the grounds, I'd stop to let the family stretch their legs. If it is still "hustle into a room to watch a video" or a full blown tour only, I'll give this one a pass. Can anyone give me insight into what I could truly expect? Thanks!
i notice on the continental .com website they sell activity tickets (disney tickets)etc does anybody know whether anybody can buy these tickets or do you have to have booked through continental
Start July 2nd friday afternoon and reach Nashville in night. On July 3rd, spend half a day there and drive down to Mamooth Caves. Visit the tours and drive down to Louisville for night stay. On July 4th, visit Louisville attractions till 2pm and proceed to Cumberland falls. Stay overnight and on July 5th, drive back to my current destination Charlotte. I stayed in Louisville around 14 years back for 2 years and now curious to return to the place and see things again. Suggestions/Comments please...
A couple years ago my family visited Kentucky Lake. Before our trip, I looked up some interesting places to visit. Unfortunately, I didn't get to do many of these things. We are going back to Kentucky Lake this summer and I was trying to look up a few of the places again. I remember finding a little information about a tiny, old church (possibly a schoolhouse). It was in the middle of the woods or something and there may not even be any main roads to this place. Did I dream this place up or can someone please tell me more about it? Also, is there a historica place that gives scenic train rides?
please could some one tell me the price on the camp spots at jenny wiley park for campers???

Where is the house located on Winn Street? What is the address?
Hey there - I'm helping my husabnd plan a Bachelor Party trip that he's hosting for a friend. They are planning to go to the infield at Derby. We live in Columbus, so it's about a 3.5 hour drive. I've heard that most hotels make you stay for three nights, and it's probably pretty pricey. Anyone have any ideas where nine very nice (not too crazy!) guys could spend the night on Friday and Saturday night of Derby weekend? They don't need anything fancy, but would prefer for the place to be clean and safe. Or, can anyone just give me an idea in general about staying in Louisville that weekend? Is it better to stay out of town a little bit? They were thinking of going to Versailles, KY for a distillery tour on Sunday, so maybe somewhere in that area would be better, price and availability-wise? Thanks for any ideas!!
Hi All We live in Columbus Ohio and find ourselves within driving distance of Kentucky, the state parks look very interesting and inviting. However is it a good idea to be visiting the same in winter now in December? Are the caves and Cumberland Falls all open at this time of the year, the websites mention that they are. Also how cold does it get? Any advice on th above will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance! Rgds Abi

We will be visiting Louisville for a couple of days after the 4th of July. Our two daughters will be with us (ages 8 & 5). We're going to try & hit Churchill Downs for the closing day of the season on 7/5, but other than that, we aren't sure what else to see, or what areas to stay in. I'd appreciate any advice on: Other kids friendly places to visit What areas to visit and/or avoid Hotel Recommendations Kid Friendly Restaurants Also, is the Louisville Slugger factory tour good for kids? My wife thinks they'd be bored there.

Looking for hotel or home rental information for the Lexington area. hopefully I can find a house to rent for 3 weeks in 2010 (Sept 24-Oct 10) that might be less expensive than a hotel for that duration. If anyone in the area has any info it would be appreciated.
