Robert Dow Reid - Spirit of the Sail (statue)

by SandiM Online Now Oct 10, 2012 at 7:13 PM

The 12meter high white statue in Kelowna is so grand I'd like to purchase a smaller statue for our coffee table if possible. Does anyone in the Okanagan know of a store (online or otherwise) that sells mini versions of this masterpiece? I'm in Edmonton, a province away and can't get back there any time soon.

Such a popular public work of art will always be made into smaller sculptures for people to own. Take a look here:

    facebook.com/media/set/?set=...

The second photo has the box it comes in as well in the photo.

Here is an auction for more Spirit of the Sail sculptures.......

    Hope this helped a bit.......d:o)

Hi there fellow Albertan.....I too was taken with Robert Dow Reid's "Spirit of Sail" staniding in the harbour in Kelowna. I did manage to purchase a smaller versoin of it at Hambleton Gallery there in Kelowna. They do have 2 sizes....the 32" size made out of fibreglass, for $1800.....a limited edition....or a smaller size which I purhcased at 13" high cast in ceramic for $185. You can contact them online, or by phone. The director is Stuart Turcott. I love my piece on the mantle piece, but wish I could have afforded

the larger version, which was a limited edition of 25 I believe..
