Hey I'm going to Kathmandu on the 7th of April. I would like to also do a bit of trekking while I'm there (probably about 10days). Would anyone be around and would like to join?

Are there super markets for tourists out in Mulpani, Nepal? We have a house there for the month of April, 2013.
We arrive in late May. All suggestions for long term guest houses with kitchen privileges for guests or NON luxurious fully furnished studio apartments are welcome. WIFI for our online work is necessary.
We look forward to meeting new friends!

Hi, I am planning a trip to India and Kathmandu.I have two options: 1-At the end of Nov. to which I have little time to arrange 2-28Th Dec.to 8th Jan. which I prefer. But I have some doubts about wheather, especially for Kathmandu. Is it a good period for that region? And I want to learn whether the high air pressure has any risk for people who have heart disease?I would ask it to our doctor but I thought that I can get more detailed information from the inhabitans of Kathmandu. And what about disadvantages f travelling at New year eve? Thank you in advance.

Hi friends, I am traveling to Kathmandu on 30th December and will be there for 4 nights. I have following queries: 1. Do I need to book hotels in Advance in Thamel city area or will it be better if I book a room upon reaching? my budget is15 to20 a day 2. will rooms be available if I don't do an advance booking during this time as it's around new year? 3. whats best mode of transport (in and around)? I am thinking of getting a 12 seater mini bus as we are 10 people from border state in India so thinking of taking this mini bus for entire trip. is it fine or shall I land in Kathmandu and opt for local transport? 4. Shall I keep the entire trip to Kathmandu only or are there nearby places which I can include. I thought of Pokhra but heard that it will be too cold. we have kids with us and my son is 2 years old. kindly suggest a good iternary for 4 days. Appreciate your help Thanks, Neeraj

Hello, I am travelling to Kathmandu for the first time. I will be staying there for 3 months so I searched for an apartment to rent, and have found a seemingly good one bedroom apartment for about350 a month at this website: http://www.apartment-kathmandu.com/ I wanted to make sure it's a reliable and honest business but couldn't find any reviews on the web. It's not even listed in Nepal Yellow Pages! How can I check it's not a scam? Thanks!
Probably a stupid question (how long is a piece of string) but want to know a ball park figure to budget for if I'm doing the basic tourist activities ie:national park tour local walks etc when I get on the plane over am I taking2,000,$3,000,$4,000,$5,000?
Hi guys, I am traveling to Nepal and I would like to know if it is easy to find shops in Kathmandu that sell products (traditional clothing, Banjara belts, Banjara skirts, Jaipur skirts, etc) from India (Rajasthan). Thanks in advance for your good advices
Hi I would like to purchase a wooden Nepalese shisha / hookah, any advice when I could be able purchase it ? Please let me know the shop address and telephone numbers for checking. Much appreciated. Thanks,
Hi Everyone, I will be heading off on a 19-day trek starting in Kathmandu on February 14th. Background: I've got an unlocked iPhone 4G and while I am not going to make many calls, I would like to be able to use data - especially GPS and social networking (facebook). International Roaming by my own service provider is possible, but they charge insane amounts and I would rather not. So, my questions are: 1. It is easy to arrive in Nepal and get a local prepaid mini-SIM? 2. Does the Everest Base Camp Trek have a good deal of coverage? Thanks in advance, Leon
Hello everyone!! I am starting to plan my trip to Asia this year and this will include China india and of course, kathmandu. What I would like to know is if it is possible to get to Kathmandu via land from either India or China and which would be the best route. I intend to visit all these countries and will end p in Bali or Kaula lumpur!! thank you much !! Cheers
Not sure if my information is correct or not but I read that there are no car rental agencies in Nepal where one could rent a car and drive yourself. Is this correct? If so (besides looking online) where does one find an affordable and reliable driver & car for more than just half or one day?
Has anyone passed through the the Kathmandu Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport in the past few weeks? Practically everything I've read about it makes it sound like a nightmare (e.g. long queues, disorganized, unhelpful staff, lack of info) Should I get to the airport 3 hours before my flight just to be safe? Also, I heard that a tourist visa isn't necessary if you're staying in Nepal for 3 days or less. I will be in Kathmandu for 2 days, leaving for India, and then coming back to Kath. for 2 more days before returning home. Can I get in free both times? Is there a separate line to wait in for this, or do I wait in the no visa line? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Hi, I am leaving in two weeks, to Nepal. I am just wondering what kind of weather I should expect. Are T-shirts, short pants and sandals something I should still pack, together with warm stuff for the trekkings on higher levels ? Thank you, Eddy
I read that the New Year's Day is celebrated in April in Nepal. If I arrive on Sat. Dec. 31 late at night, will it be like a regular day, or will there be New Year's Eve celebrations going on? Thank you!
Hi We are planning to travel in Rajasthan in October then go on to Varanasi on our way to Kathmandu in November. Does anyone know the easiest way get from Varanasi to Kathmandu? We would probably chose to go by train if there is one. thanks Marion
Hi All! I'm flying to Nepal the day after tomorrow (26 May,) and plan to spend four days in Kathmandu. I've heard you can get better deals walking up to the reception in Thamel hotels instead of booking online. Anyone know if that's true? Also, any suggestions for clean hotels in Thamel (or on the edges of Thamel) would be appreciated. The top range of my bedget is USD 50, though I'd prefer not to pay more than USD 30 a night. Thanks, Prole
Hi, I have not booked my flight but plan for a short trip end of May. I'd like some suggestions for itenary for 4D3N or 5D4N so I can book the flight. Also, it is better to rent a car and drive or book a tour? Is public transport readily available to get to major attractions? Any recommended area to stay which is convenient for transportation and to find some local food / delicacies? Hope to have some suggestions so I can research more before asking more specific questions. Thanks!
I am treking to 4500 metres and I am going to take Diamox. I have a bit of arthritis in my knee and Voltarin (Diclofenac) fixes it up good. Has anyone had experince of taking both these drugs together Alan Clark
