Are there super markets for tourists out in Mulpani, Nepal? We have a house there for the month of April, 2013.

I’m not an Expat – But am a regular visitor to Nepal and am currently here now,
Food and groceries won’t be a problem for you in Kathmandu, you have a choice of using small local shops, supermarkets, or there are even a couple of out of town hypermarkets now where things are very cheap, especially useful if you have access to a car !!
You will find most food items very cheap anywhere, so there is really no need for any concern

Thanks, on-line just can't find anything out there near the house we've got, Google maps or listings. Katmandu sure, but we are half hour away, car access unsure, lug stuff on bus? Bus is described as being a survival exercise of it's own. Wondering if I should lug instant soup packets, crackers and protein bars or we can get food enough locally -- we eat everything, anything. Also hearing a lot of stories (including ex-pat descriptions) of often getting sick from food/water contamination. Bring our own meds for such if we are unlucky and get sick?

I am sure there is no need to lug a whole lot of food with you to Nepal – Maybe only if you have a special brand of a certain commodity, otherwise everything is available in Nepal and usually at a fraction of the price compared to most western countries, - Taxi’s are cheap, so if you choose to do a weekly shop at one of the larger supermarkets will only add a few $’s to your bill
Most medicines are available over the counter – So again no problems
Water – Great care should be taken with water, don’t even think about drinking the local stuff and even after boiling it isn’t great in Kathmandu !!!!!!
