Karlsruhe

Hello This may be a silly question, however, I've just found a really cheap flight from Ireland to Karlsruhe and would like to know how far would I have to travel to go ski-ing - well more specifically snowboarding. I have a 13yr old son who would love to do this, and given the airfare (£28 return) if there was anywhere relatively close I would consider taking him in April. thanks for any advice, Jacqui

April is mostlikely too late for the skiing in the Black Forest. Thus you'll have to head to the Alps. Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport (aka Baden Airpark) to Interlaken needs mostly 4:21. DB timetable reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/qu... From: Baden Airpark To: Interlaken Baden Airpark to Baden-Baden is EUR 3,00 (for your) + 1,50 (for your son) Baden-Baden to Interlaken Ost is EUR 68,00 + 0,00 Interlaken is in the Bernese Oberland, which is (to my estimation) the closest area with safe skiing in April. berneroberland.ch/navi/winte... Interlaken itself is not really a ski resort, rather a railway know and "base camp" for this region.
