Hi,
We plan to stay in Lucerne for only one night, but we'll have a car and most hotel I've looked at (3 to 4 star) say parking is available nearby for a surcharge, or at a nearby public parking place. Can anyone suggest a nice (charming?) hotel, not necessarily in the middle of the city, where we can park without having to pay?
Thank you very much.
Cathy

Hi All, Is anyone can help to provide some info on Stanserhorn, Titlis & Transportation Museum? a) Open Air Cable Car to the Stanserhorn. I've browsed through the website, the fares as below. May I know what is the difference between the 1st & 2nd options? Both also back to Stans. Is the 4th option including return ticket to Stans? 1) Stans-Stanserhorn Adults (Swiss Pass) CHF 34.00 (return) 2) Round trip Stans-Stanserhorn-Wirzweli-Dallenwil-Stans Adults (Swiss Pass) CHF 23.40 3) Round trip Stans-Stanserhorn-Wiesenberg-Dallenwil-Stans Adults (Swiss Pass) CHF 25.00 4) Good morning ticket (departure: 8.15am / 9.15am) Adults (Swiss Pass) CHF 29.00 b) Titlis I would like to hike for 1 section from Trubsee station. Would like to confirm the correct route. Is it from Engelberg & get off Trubsee station, then I’ll need to hike up until Titlis or to Jochpass & hop in the cable car from Jochpass to Titlis? If this included into the Engelberg to Titlis route? And how long will it take to hike up until the next station to catch up the next cable car to Titlis? c) Transportation Museum Lucerne, is this museum covered free with Swiss Pass. I know Swiss Pass got provide free entry for museum but not sure is it applies the same for Transportation Museum Lucerne. Thanks a lot. Have a nice day. Regards, Aodreen

Hello, I'm planning a day trip in Lucerne & Pilatus Kulm. I checked the website but information is a bit strange regarding the cog railway. Since I'm going there on Saturday, end of April, is it possible to take the cog railway to Pilatus? Or it's closed? I read lots of post on the internet and I understand that summer season beggins in May and winter season ends in March. So it leaves April in what season? :) I know the other options to go up there, but I'd preffer the cog railway.
Will be in Lucerne in January for 2 nights. After ground floor or accommodation with a lift as my wife is in a wheel chair. Need help with pensions/B&B's/pensions within walking distance of the train station. Any ideas of what to see and do would be appreciated. Thanks guys.
Guys, I amm planning a trip to swiss for around nine days. I am getting in at Zurich and then making my way to Geneva from there. In between I will visit, Lucerne, Interlaken and Berne. My question revolves the two days I plan to be in lucerne. I have reserved one day for Mount Titlis and the next day for Mount Pilatus. There are plenty of trips available on the internet and most of them are expensive. I don't mind shelling that kind of money, but of course the preference is to save and also if possible to travel on my own, rather than be bound to any travel services. Q1) How do I get to Mount Titlis from Lucerne. Can some one please break up the stages of journey and also tell me the approximate cost for each journey? Q2) How do I get to Mount Pilatus from Lucerne. Can some one please break up the stages of journey and also tell me the approximate cost for each journey? Really appreciate any help you can provide in this matter. Regards, Sandey

Hi- I am looking to visit Jungfraujoch. I found a tour on http://www.switzerlandholidays.com/ that will start in Lucerne 09:30 in the morning and go to Jungfraujoch and end in Zurich around 20:00. This is the only tour that I found that will start in Lucerne and end in Zurich all others do round trip to Lucerne. Is it worth doing this trip through a tour company with a guide? The cost is289 francs per person. Or can this trip be done by ourselves? Also does anyone know of other tour companies that offer this trip (start in Lucerne and end in Zurich)? Also, Does anyone know of a good hotel in Lucerne where it would be easy to see the city as well as be close to the train station to go to Jungfraujoch? Thanks, Ashley
Hi, I am planning a budget for a 2 adult trip to Switzerland including the destinations of Lucerne, Interlaken etc with a quite concrete tour plan in each of the destinations. My questions related to Lucerne trip are: 1) A day pass available for the round trip from Zurich to Lucerne with some discount treatment for the cogwheel, boat touring cost? If not 2) What is the train or bus round trip cost from Zurich to Lucerne? 3) In the Lucerne and surroundings, what is the No.1 trolley bus cost from Lucerne to Kriens? 4) What is the round trip cogwheel cost and single trip cost from Kriens to Mt.Pilatus? 5) What is boat tour cost on the lake to Alpnachstad? What do you think the ideal trip line that covers the most worthseeing landscapes with the most effective cost? Many thanks!

Hi, We will be in Luzern, Switzerland for three days and will need 2 rooms or 1 famliy room for Late July, 4 adults. Prefer a private bath and we won't have a car so we won't be able to stay too far from Lucerne. Anyone have a hotel they recommend. Budget 300 USD if possible. Thanks
Will be in Switzerland mid July for three days. We will be coming from Paris. Never been before and thought Luzern would be nice. Wanted mountains and a lake, some hiking and general relaxing, going on to Florence upon leaving. If you only had 3 days in Switzerland in your whole life would it be spent in Luzern. If so where would you stay(hotel)? Budget is under$500 USD/day. Couple and 2 adult boys. Traveling by train/no car. Would 2 days in Luzern and a day in Interlaken or somewhere else be better? Thank you so much for relying!
