I am looking for a place where several members of the El Dorado High School Alumni can gather for a BBQ Potluck dinner. We will want to have some time for conversation and activities. We do not want to have to worry about noise after 10:00 PM like we would at the Lake. Is there a spot that can be rented for such an Alumni Gathering? Please let me know if there is, and who I should contact about this. Thank You Nancy Nichols-Miller email: minimiller12310@yahoo.com
My partner is trying to visit his parents - It seems there is not a Greyhound Station in Ottawa. Can anyone give us suggestions about getting from the Kansas City airport to Ottawa? Thanks.
Any tips on good places to eat close to the airport in Wichita? By close I mean "walking distance." By walking distance I mean "a 2-mile radius without having to jaywalk." I used to go to flight training in Memphis and after a couple of years ended up knowing all the ins and outs of the area. But since our management changed our training location to Wichita, everything's new. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks!
Hello, I am visiting family in Kansas City for a week, and looking for interesting travel destinations around here - nature, scenery, attraction or anything else interesting... I have a car and wouldn't mind driving couple of hours. Thanks!
Is there any bars that have a place nxt to it for a big truck to park at?
I just got into town. Do I need to check my firearm with the Marshall?
I am going to be in Fort Scott, KS tomorrow all day while my husband is working. I will have my 6 week old baby with me and I was wondering what to do and where to go to keep busy. Also, I am broke and need to go do something that won't cost me much if anything.
There is an old white building south of Fort Scott that I've always wanted to figure out the history on. It looks like an old school house or church and sits on the corner of the intersection at Fern Rd maybe? I just drive by it all the time. Does anyone know where to find this information?
Was this memorial the only contribution that Franklin county made for the Spanish American War? If not what else in the Ottawa Kansas city limits pays contribute to the Spanish American War?

We will be crossing Kansas from Denver to Kansas City along Rt 70 during the last week in September 2009. We are not campers and will have been in motels for the previous 4 weeks. Does anyone know of a B&B or Boarding House type of lodging along this route? We've never stayed at either. Any info, suggestions, or leads will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Irv

Any ideas where to find a place to stay on a weekend when all the hotels are booked solid? (Parents weekend @ KU) I am trying to keep from having to stay in Overland Park.
Any advice on where to stay if I'm planning on road tripping out to catch a royals game? I'm looking for a place that is relatively inexpensive (but clean and safe) but has easy access to the ballpark, restaurants, bars, etc. Thanks!
Hi all! A group of mid to late twenties canadians (8 to be exact) try and hit the first round of march madness every year. This is a classic boys only weekend so we are interested in great food, great drinks and plenty to see and do during both the day and night. I am pulling for Kansas City to be our 2009 location. I have done a bit of research on the city and I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a few questions. 1) Where would the best area (or even hotel) for us to stay? It would be nice to be in a spot with planty of restaurants (BBQ!), brewpubs and nightlife all relatiely close to the sprint center. 2) Will we need to rent a car for our stay or is getting around town easy enough? 3) I plan on checking out the art museum, jazz museum and possibly the world of fun in addition to the NCAA games. Are there any other attractions or lessor known spots that I simply shouldn't miss? 4) Any suggestions for restaurants, pubs, jazz clubs etc would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot and hopefully see you in 2009!
Although planning is half the fun of travel, I'm very flexible and have already started tweaking our itinerary before we started. I would appreciate any diversions off this pretty long stretch of our 8,000 mile cross country trip. I'll be posting questions in several forums as I savor each segment. Thanks for all your responses so far, and for those I haven't solicited yet. Irv
About a week after the tornado, news stations ceased reporting on Greensburg. So what's going on there? Are the citizens returning? I'd like an update, please. Tom
What are the visiting hours of the Warkentine Museum?
Does Greensburg continue to exist? ... David
I'm looking for any unusual playground in the Wichita area. For example, perhaps it might be built over a stream, into a mountain, have unusual attractions, etc. Can anyone offer advice?
We are 3English people in our early 60s and active. I belong to the celiac support group and missed their last dinner since I live in Hutch and can't travel much. I rember before I got celiac sprue how great your food was. I heard from the support group you put a list together. could you plese email it to me? I'm planning on coming there tomorrow to eat, shop and go to the Warren. thanks in advance for your help, it's so hard to find somewhere to eat and feel like a normal person and part of a group. We admire the time it took to help the group and future undiagnosed celiacs. There also have 3 kinds of gluten free beer available that you could order and probably sell quite a bit of, if you would like their names let me know. thanks, Nacy Crawford.
I swear that I have no affiliation with this place; I just ate there last night for the first time and the food was so fantastic that I want to spread the word. Ole Tapas is located at 1008 Massachusetts (I think there used to be an Ethiopian place there). For those of you who haven't had tapas before, it's basically small portions like appetizers, so you can order several different things for a meal. My wife and I had six different items, and all of them were absolutely fantastic. It was one of the best meals we've ever had anywhere. Here's their web site: http://www.ole-tapas.com/
Hello- I am new to this website :-) so it is making me a little nervous. I hope to be at the right place to ask the following question... I could use some help / suggestions with planning of a road trip (about 7 days) from Iowa to Arizona. My parents from Europe will arrive in Iowa sometime in March and plan on renting a car there. They would like to spend one week driving from Des Moines, IA to Phoenix, AZ. During their journey they would like to visit and see as many interesting places as possible - museums, parks, art, history, nature, .... anything interesting and unique to each state. Also, any advice as to where to stay (something more economical), during the 7 days on the road, would be much appreciated. Many thanks, Sarka
What night clubs and bars have poker nights? Anyone know?
