My Boyfriend and i want to go to the Tiger Temple from Bangkok. I wanted to know if you can recommend a tour group and rough prices that you might have paid as on the net i seem to get wildly different price ranges and i don't want to pay too much (or too little!)
I think u can buy bargain price at Kaosan Rd BKK when u arrive.

The best way to go to the Tiger Temple is to get your own driver and go by yourselves it is much cheaper and there is no hassles with picking up other people from their hotels if you're on a tour group. We went as a family of 4 and had the driver for the whole day and he took us elsewhere and we paid him AUD80-00 maybe too much but still cheaper than a tour and much more comfortable in a taxi.

Why not spend a couple of days in the nice city of Kanchanaburi. Visit the historic Bridge on the River Kwai, the War Cemetary with headstones for 7000 allied soldiers who died during the building of the Death Railway during World War II, visit the Hellfire Pass Museum, take a ride on the railway and enjoy the beautiful landscapes along the river, have a longtail boat trip on the river. In the evening take a stroll by the river promenade and enjoy a wonderful (and cheap) meal at one of the restaurants and at the same time be watching the party rafts with their lights sailing up and down with happy people. Later in the evening visit the night market by the railway station and watch the locals - and make a good bargain yourself. For the Tiger Temple you might contact one of the local tour agencies like 'Good Times Travel' who has daily trips to the temple. Several nice and cheap hotels and/or guesthouses. Have a look at this link for further info about this nice and quiet provincial city: kanchanaburi-info.com/en/ind...

When I went to tiger temple I hired a guide/driver that made Saduak Floating Market, Kanchanaburi, River Kwai, Cementery, Elephant Ride and Tiger Temple in time to feed and hold the babies. the guide is Tong, very well recomended in many foruns (VT, Lonely Planet, Trip Advisors etc) and if I remember she charged us around 4000bht for a full day including gas. We started at 7:00am until 9:00pm. you can take her contact at my Bangkok page.
