Is it a good time to travel Kampong Saom in Aug? We're planning to head there on 10th Aug 2010 and cosidering other places in Cambodia also. Thanks, Gamonds
good plan if you try to avoid the crowds, because its rainy season :-) but there's a lot to explore in the area: the reamon national park and nearby Kep and Kampot with Bokor mountain

We headed SHV on 19 Aug & back on 23 Aug. The place was not quite crowded but most places recommended were packed. Cloud 9, Monkey republic was full. However, we managed to find a good place to stay on the Serendipity street (lead to the beach), the GST III guesthouse. GST III is good enough for family and large group with various choices to stay. A small restaurant - satisfactory - serves Western & Khmer foods right there. It also provide massage & free wifi for guests. Very close to the beach. We spent13 for a double bed room.
