Is South Haven a good choice for the 4th of July weekend with kids (7 & 4) or would you recommend another area? I've only been to Detroit in Michigan so I'm going into this blind.. Any help would be great!

I am here for work through the end of December. I usually arrive on Sunday nights around 9 pm. Is there any place to get something to eat other than fast food or pizza? Also, is there any place that serves food after 10 pm on the other weeknights? Thanks in advance!
