I will be visiting Kakadu in the beginning of July. Any problem with mosquitos and insects in Kakadu at that time?
In my knowledge and experience there are problems with mosquitoes and insects in the tropics anytime !! But nothing overly alarming if you take the normal precautions....L.

The worst times for mosquitos are at the end of the wet season - approx. May/June, and the start of the wet season - approx. October/November. But it also depends of which areas you visit. The East Alligator area is one of the worst for mozzies. In July there'll still be some mozzies around but it's not the worst time. Other insects follow that general pattern as well, they're most common in the flood plain areas at dusk and early evening. Mosquitos can carry Ross River Fever and Murray Valley Encephalitis in the Top End, but there's no Malaria nor Dengue Fever. You can get insect repellants anywhere.

Thank folks for your replies - it seems just take the normal precautions about covering up and using insect repellent - and things should be OK.
