I am trying to find details of a ferry or sea bus on the morning of 16th MAY 2014 from Istanbul to Silivri. I would like to know the departure and arrival times and where does it leave from. I would be truly thankful for any assistance. himshi133
We are arriving at Ataturk Airport just before 17:00 in late April. Would we have still have enough time after checking in to the hotel to take a ferry ride that will allow us to see some of the European side and the Asian side from the water even if we are too late to catch the sunset? I had read that the public ferry would still be running frequently even though we had probably missed established tour cruise departures. Even without audio explanations, just seeing Istanbul (hopefully the Blue Mosque, etc.) from the water would be a thrill. Our main luggage will be marked for transfer to our flight to Rotterdam the next day, and we will be dropped off at the hotel by a local tour service. We will be staying near the Beyazit metro stop, so should be able to get to Eminou docks fairly easily. The tour service will give us a morning tour of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia on our return leg from Rotterdam, but we thought we could manage a short ferry ride on our own that first night in Istanbul. Appreciate suggestions! Caroline
Is it better to bring TL vs Euro for daily activities, local merchants etc? If so, a suggested daily amount for spending, food, attractions, markets, merchants etc would be appreciated Don't wasn't to carry too much cash while travelling
We will be in Gebze and Istanbul for 5 days beginning of May and as it happens is our Wedding Anniversary during visit to Istanbul.
Now I am after nice neighborhood restaurant family owned, somewhere in the City.
Nothing on the tourist path please, strictly locals hangout, may be with nice patio or overlooking water, quiet and atmospheric.
getting there wont be problem as we will have car for our 3 days in Istanbul.
we will be in Sultanahmet area of town, yes I know is very touristy, but there is where we are booked by my husband firm.
I would like for us to have nice dinner with lots of atmosphere and local dishes, mom and pop establishment.
may be locals have some ideas? Any input appreciated!
ANY suggestions for 2 senior ladies going to Istanbul in May 2014? For example how to avoid too much walking? Tourist traps geared towards seniors? Advice for aged WOMEN? Inexpensive places to eat in Beyazit (we're on a tight budget,) Best shuttles from Ataturk airport to hotel in Beyazit (nr Sultanhamet.)
We'll really appreciate ANY tips, suggestions or advice. We're scared stiff! Thanx.
