Lost Nikon DSLR camera in Petra
Yesterday (3 November, 2013), while walking around Petra, I lost my Nikon D5200. I had gone into the restroom near the Theatre (next to Marguerite van Geldermalsen's stall) and hung the camera from the hook behind the toilet door. I forgot to take it on my way out and when I came back 10 minutes later, it was gone. The lady who minds the toilet looked around and said no one had turned in anything. No luck with the tourist police either. Even the shopkeepers and donkey / horsemen pleaded ignorance. If anyone happens to come across the camera - please do get in touch via Virtual Tourist. I will be eternally grateful. If you can't reach me, please leave word with Jane at Rocky Mountain Hotel, Wadi Musa. Thanks
My husband and I are riding on our Harley from Tabuk, Saudi Arabia to Jordan and are wondering how much time it would take to do the stretch from Aqaba to Karak, using the King's Highway. If it is too long, it may be better to stop at Dana instead. Info welcome!

I will be with 6 adults visiting many of the famous sights in Jordan in late October. We have been told that there are now many security stops on the highways that can be time consuming and that hiring a local driver would expedite our travel. Is this true? We would rather not add a seventh person to our trip.
We will be visiting Jordan and landing in Aqaba. We would like to rent a car from there and then wander around the country. Do you have any good car rental company to recommand in Aqaba?
thanks for your help!
Planning my visit to Jordan next year (second trip), have a couple of specific questions:
1. How is weather like towards end April?
2. For Dead Sea, if we do not book a resort for overnight stay, is there any place we can stop for photos / hang out at the beach and enjoy Dead Sea?
Planning a trip to Jordan next year - this is my second visit, but I have not been to Aqaba. Wanted to find out more on what are the attractions in Aqaba - if we are not into diving and beach sports, is there much to do?
Is the Tala Bay worth a day trip or overnight recommended? If we are going to Aqaba, planning to go after in the morning after an overnight trip in Wadi Rum. Thinking of potentially a day trip before driving to Dead Sea for an overnight stay as I checked out the resorts and think they are quite pricy. If I do not book a stay in a hotel, is there a place we can stop for photos / hang out to appreciate Tala Bay?
Any useful advice / tips much appreciated!
We are visiting Jordan in 2 weeks. We arrive into Amman at 9.30am, plan to drive to the Dead Sea, spend the day there, staying the night at Holiday inn in sowayma. Early next morning drive to Petra, spend the day exploring, including a night tour, then the next morning drive back to Amman airport and fly out.
I know this is a rushed tour but do you think it is possible? We are both quite fit so hiking for a full day will not be a problem for us.
Thanks for any tips or advice.

Hi, We are planning a trip to Dubai, but would like to stop in Amman, in order to visit Petra. My question is, how should I do this?
Our plan is to travel from Glasgow to Dubai, and spend a couple of days in Dubai , and then fly Dubai to Amman. What is the best way to get to Petra from Amman, and spend 2 to 3 days in Petra (Not sure if its worh going for a tour operator, or just planning our own trip?). Then fly back from Amman to Dubai for 2 - 3 days and then back to Glasgow. Also we are planning to go end of August, is this a good time? Sorry for all the questions - any help much appreciated.....Thanks

I am a U.S. passport holder and am wondering if a Visa on arrival is still available at the Amman airport? If so, are they open on Saturdays (may seem like a strange question, but I have seen some strange things in my travels)? Approx. how long does it take to get one? I assume this is located before passport control, please confirm and any details would be appreciated along with any information you feel is important. I truly appreciate all of your assistance.
Folks, I am planning to go back packing in Jordan. Can some one recommend an itinerary and really cheap way to travel and stay? Please. A mix of off beaten track and the typical tourist map. I am going alone and on a shoe string budget

Can someone please tell me whether or not I will have any problems being in Amman's airport for several hours? My international flight arrives at 1:45 a.m., and the tour guide isn't available to pick me up until 8:00 a.m. I don't mind sitting in the airport and waiting. Will this be an issue? Also, is it easy to locate the visa counter and obtain a visa? (I am traveling from the U.S. to Jordan.)
