    • Business Visa for short term internship in China. For 3 months

      China Yesterday

I need some help! I have applied for Business Visa for short term internship in China. For 3 months
and my application is deficient for following work Permit. There are two types of work permit in China:

      1. One year Work Permit – To apply for this kind of work permit, the applicant must have at least two years working experience.
      2. Short Term Work Permit (3 months) – This is the new policy starting to be implemented from Jan 30, 2015. The government official at Labor Bureau said currently only models or actors/actress who perform in China for a short period of time could apply for short term work permit.

I am a student and I neither have experience for 2 years nor I fall in actor category , in such a
Case, what should I do as I have a job in hand in china but there is problem for visa as per new

visa rules implemented from Jan 30, 2015. Pl guide

      Malaria and other assorted nasties..

Yunnan Sheng Mar 4, 2015 at 7:41 AM

      Hi guys

I'll be travelling to Yunnan in early April, going through Kunming, Dali, Lijiang and 2 days at Tiger Leaping Gorge.

I've heard all sorts of things from the friends i'm travelling with around the innoculations they're injecting (Rabies, Typhoid, maybe Hep A/B..) and the tablets they're taking (Malaria and the russian roulette of side effects).

I may be going out on a limb here, but is this all rather dramatic when I'm spending 2 days in a 'rural' location (Tiger Leaping Gorge) and staying at decent guesthouses/inns for the rest of the trip? Maybe it's the thought of Yunnan being exotic, or am I being far too lax in my own attitude to health, given my itinerary and April travel date?

      any thoughts welcome!

      Katie

I'm planning to take CNY currency with me but am unsure as to whether I should also take $US as well. The CNY cannot be loaded onto my Travel Debit Card but $US can. I'm travelling from Australia. If you can think of any other tips please feel free to let me know!

      Jiangyin Apr 25, 2014 at 3:03 AM

I am moving there to teach English at gymboree in a few weeks and I am just wondering if there are any English speaking people there that might be able to help me with the transition.

I am a white south African.
This will be my first time leaving South Africa and my first time teaching.

I am 22 years old, play guitar, listen to alternative music, some indie and like rock and metal.
I ride a motorcycle here in SA, maybe if there are any other bikers out there we could go for a ride when I buy a bike over there?
Also some prices on a decent bike would be rad, if anyone knows?

      My email address is dannyboybartlett@gmail.com.

      Thanks in advance

Purple-Gold Mountain (Zijin Shan) in Nanjing

      Nanjing Jan 25, 2014 at 12:47 AM

I'm planning a trip to Nanjing, China in spring. I have some questions relating to the Purple-Gold Mountain (Zijin Shan) scenic area:
      1. Does anyone know where the cable car there takes you? I'm assuming it's the Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences at the top of the hill?
      2. Is it possible to walk/hike from the Observatory to Zixia Lake on the hill?
      Thanks in advance!

      Getting to the airport

      Jiangdu Jul 25, 2013 at 5:30 PM

I am in Jiangdu, and wondered what the best and most cost effective way to get to the Shanghai Pudong Intl airport was. I was told there is a train station in Jiangdu that has a route to Shanghai, but when I go to look for the train schedule online it shows me no such route. The nearest I stop to Shanghai I have found from Jiangdu is Nantong. If you could point me in the right direction or if I am overlooking something please let me know. I need to get to the airport and don't want to miss my flight. Thanks for your help!
