Is it safe for me to travel to Jerusalem on my own? I'm a single 30 year old woman and I'm determined to take a last big trip before I start a family and settle down. I chose Jerusalem because I want to see all the holy sites and really immerse myself in a vacation getting to know my creators holy land.

I am planning a trip (alone) to Israel in August to visit the Holy places of Christendom. I don't have much time so I plan to do Tel Aviv,Jerusalem,Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee within a 7 day period. I am renting a car and would like some tips on getting around-. basically in Jerusalem as I shall be spending a large part of my stay there. My questions are: a)is it worth driving around to see the sights in Jerusalem? b) If not, are there electric bike rentals? and how much do they cost per day? How much do they ask as deposit (if at all)? c)If I visit the holy places in the afternoon, would there be less crowds? d) what is the cost of an average meal in a restaurant or if there are malls, do they have food courts and are they better price-wise? Are there any restaurants (outside the hotel establishments) that are open on Sabbath? Any tips or replies would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Danke schon, Merci beaucoup, Muchisimas Gracias.

      From Amman to Jerusalem

by Dacos Online Now Mar 18, 2012 at 8:43 PM

Hi, I want some advices for my 6 days trip to Israel from Amman. I am going to stop over in Amman in mt way home to Canada after working 4 weeks in Iraq. I want to go directly to Jerusalem and spend the week travelling around holly land and I want to visit Tel Aviv as well. My concern is all the bad things I heard about visiting Israel if you work in an arab country, I have an Ecuadorian and a Canadian nationality, I am in doubt of which passport to use for entry to Israel, I dont want to have any problem in the future because the Israeli stamp in my passport. Another advices i need is regarding the way to reach Jerusalem, I was thinking to flight in RJ airlines from Amman to Tel Aviv but is is too expensive (~US$500) and the flight schedulle dont look very good. I want to travel by land from Amman, what is the best way to do this? is is expensive too? is it a waste of time? is it better to pay the RJ flight and avoid all this problems of transfers and taxis or buses?. I am arriving to Amman very early a Sunday and have to take my flight to Canada very early the next Sunday. Please I want to hear your comments

My mother brought a set of 3 wooden flutes as a souvenier of her trip to Jerusalem. Each flute has two long wooden pieces like a regular flute with holes which are connected & two smaller pieces attached with string like mouth pieces or reeds. It looks like you're supposed to attach the smaller pieces to the larger ones. We couldn't figure out how this works. Is anyone familiar with these flutes?
