How much does an average meal - may be falafal etc - cost in Jerusalem?

Falefal in the street kiosks with salad, thina, pickles, fries and so on costs anywhere from NIS10 to NS15. Most places also have a free bar for extras to stuff the pita with :) An average sit-down meal in a restaurant is appreciably more expensive.

While good, the restaurants are very expensive. Falafal will be under10, but more expesive that it really should be.

The quote of 10-15 shekels is accurate, and in some places you can even get meat for that price but it's generally in a half pita. If you want a substantially more filling meal then you can go for what is called a Laffa and this resembles a burrito with the same things as a pita would have just more stuffing and the bread is flat rather than pita. For that expect to pay 20-25 NIS.
