    • Plan to Jeju

Jeju (city) Apr 17, 2013 at 9:55 PM

hi, my name is Dyana, I've plan to visit Jeju and Seoul next July.
Please help me to answer this:
      1. I'll arrive at Incheon airport on 8.30AM, and then I'll go to Gimpo airport for my flight to Jeju. There are 2 flights Jeju air on 12.20PM and Eastar Jet on 1.35PM. What do u think guys? If I buy Jeju air ticket, do u think I can catch it? I'm afraid that the immigration process will take a long time. Please advise. :)
      2. I've several places to go at Jeju, such as: Seongsan Ilchulbong, Seopjikoji, Cheonjeyeon Waterfall, Hyeopjae beach. What's the best route to go there? FYI, I'll stay at Jeju-si, near the airport. and I only have 2 days 1 night there (around 3PM-11AM the next morning). Can u suggest me the best route to all those places?
Thank you so much, I'm looking forward for your reply soon. :)

Sort JeJu Visit Planning Help Needed

Jeju (city) Mar 30, 2012 at 10:59 AM

I will visit JeJu Island on April 26, 2013 from about 2:30PM until 9:30PM with a cruise ship. Rather than use a ship's tour I am interested in seeing a few sights like Jusangjeolli rock columns, the Manjanggul Lava Tube, etc., - mostly nature type sights. So, I'd like to see these things among others but want to end in downtown JeJu, or closer to the port, around 6 or 7PM where we will eat at a yet-to-be-determined Korean restaurant and drink a little soju. My wife and I love the Korean meals, often eating lunch at Korean restaurants in Atlanta when visiting family there (there is a large Asian population in North-East Atlanta). It would also be great if we could visit an open-air street market. I realize that the time is short but does anyone have any suggestions of how to accomplish this?

    • I need some assistance for my coming Jeju-do trip (free and easy)~

      Jeju-do Feb 27, 2012 at 11:04 PM

Hi. I'll be arriving Jeju on 31 March 2012(12.35pm) and leaving Jeju-do on 2 April 2012(9.30am). I'll be going to Jeju-do with 1 lady friend. Here is my planned itinerary: * 31/3/2012 * 1235pm - Arrive Jeju-do 0115pm - Take bus to Glass Castle 0230pm - Arrive Glass Castle 0430pm - Leave Glass Castle and take bus to Jungmun Resort 0515pm - Reach Jungmun Resort 0530pm - Teddy Bear Museum 0730pm - Dinner 0800pm - Volcano Foutnain show in Jungmun Resort 0900pm - Take bus to Seongsan area and stay overnight in a jiljimbang * 1/4/2012 * 0600am - Leave the jiljimbang 0630am - Climb Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak 0900am - Seopjikoji (All in film location) 1000am - Depart from Seopjikoji 1100am - Trick Art Museum (Pyeseon area) 1230pm - Depart to Minimini Land 0130pm - Arrive Minimini Land 0300pm - Leave Minimini Land and heading to Stone Park 0330pm - Arrive Stone Park 0430pm - Leave Stone Park and heading to Jeju Teseum 0600pm - Arrive Teseum 0800pm - Leave Teseum and heading to Loveland 0900pm - Mysterious Road + Loveland 1030pm - Leave Loveland and heading to resort nearby airport After reading my planned itinerary, please help me answer my queries: 1) Firstly, do you think this itinerary is workable? We don't mind to be tired a bit.. As long as we able to go to more interesting places.. 2) Since we are on a budget trip, we are planning to save the money by taking buses from one destination to the next destination.. So, is the bus transport services in Jeju-do are good? Would the bus driver know how to speak English? 3) Do you know how long it takes for the tour for Glass Castle? This is because I really want to go to Miniature Park but my partner insists want to go to Glass Castle.. What do you think about this 2 attractions? Which one is a more interesting attraction? Between, generally, how long is the tour for the Miniature Park? 4) Is it easy to find a Jiljimbang nearby Seongsan Iilchunbong Peak if we only find and book it upon arrival the area at about 10pm, 31/3/2012? Between, how long the bus travel time will takes if i want to go to Seongsan area from Jungmun Resort? 5) I had listed quite a number of attractions, is there any attraction you think it's not very interesting? And, do you have must-go attractions in mind which i did not mention? Sorry that I have many queries.. I will really appreciate your assistance.. Looking forward to a favourable reply^^

    • Busan to Jejudo - Overnight Ferry?

      Jeju-do Jul 21, 2011 at 1:49 PM

Hi! My friend and I are looking to travel from Seoul (4 days), to Gyeongju (1 day), to Busan (1 day), to Jejudo (2 days), to Mokpo (2 days) and then back to Seoul for a night. I was wondering what would be the BEST way to travel from place to place. So far, I think: (1) From Seoul to Gyeongju, we would take the KTX from Seoul to Singyeongju and take a 15 minutes bus ride into the center of Gyeuongju. (2) From Gyeongju to Busan, I know there are buses that only take about 2 or 3 hours travel. (3) From Busan to Jejudo is where I need help. I know there's an overnight ferry from Busan to Jejudo that takes 11 hours and it's about40 -160 depending on what type of ticket you get.40 is probably for sleeping on the floor and I'm not sure my friend and I would be very comfortable. Anyone ever done it before? Other than the overnight ferry, would a plane ticket be more feasible? (4) From Jejudo to Mokpo, there's a 5.5 ferry that I think would be the best way to travel. (5) From Mokpo back to Seoul, is there another KTX train? I couldn't find the line on the internet, not sure why, because I'm pretty sure there is. So how does the above travel plans sound? Thanks for everyone's input and help!! It is much appreciated. :)

Not enough time in Jeju? + Busan-Jeju overnight ferry questions

      Jeju-do Jul 16, 2011 at 12:27 AM

My friend and I will be visiting Jeju in mid-Aug. Prime holiday season, it seems! We'll be taking the overnight ferry from/to Busan. 1) Here's what I've planned for 3 days... is this too rushed? Should we plan for 4 days instead? We will not be driving, but I hope to rent bicycles to get around faster, or rely on the buses. Sat 13 Aug: submarine trip, O'Sulloc Museum, Chocolate Museum, Jusangjeolli, Teddy Bear Museum Sun 14 Aug: Ilchulbong sunrise, haenyeo performance (?), Seopjikoji, Jeju Folk Village Museum (I'm a fan of Dae Jang Geum, and supposedly some of it was filmed here), Trick Art Museum Mon 15 Aug: Halla-san, Love Land, Manjanggul lava tube, Glass Castle I'm most keen on seeing (in rough order of preference): Ilchulbong sunrise, Manjanggul lava tube, Teddy Bear Museum, the submarine trip, Halla-san, O'Sulloc Museum... of course I'd like to see as much as possible, but those would be the absolute musts if I really have to make a choice. 2) And actually... if someone could tell me roughly how long each of the places I list would need, that would be a major major help!! :D 3) What's the probability of a "good" sunrise at Ilchulbong in mid-Aug? Will it be extremely crowded, seeing that it's a weekend? 4) What are you conditions like for the cheapest class on the Busan-Jeju overnight ferries? Will we need to bring our own sleeping bags, or will there be bedding provided? 5) Do we need to arrive a certain amount of time before the departure time of the ferry in order to buy tickets and stake out good spots? Thanks in advance for any answers! :)

how can i book a pension without any Korean language skills ?

      Jeju-do Apr 17, 2011 at 11:11 AM

Hi everyone, I'm going to Jeju this summer and it seems that available accomodation will be scarce because this period is particularly busy. I'd like to stay in a small pension, away from the most popular/touristy spots. However, all the websites I found on "Jeju Olle Walking Festival" website are in Korean only. Is there any website/way i can book a room without reading Korean ? And could anyone possibly suggest a quiet place by the sea ? Thanks a lot, Marjorie

    • ATV in Jeju

Jeju (city) Mar 9, 2011 at 9:08 PM

Hi, would appreciate if someone can advice me on some questions with driving an ATV in Jeju . I was checking out some websites by Korean tourism board and is interested by the ATV driving on the beaches. The site I saw suggested Sanbada ATV as the ATV rental company. However when I tried accessing their webpage, I realized that it is all in Korean which I do not understand. As such would appreciate if someone can advice me on the following queries: 1. Is a driving license required to drive an ATV in Jeju (preferably with regards to Sanbada ATV) 2. Do we need to make reservation in advance to rent the ATV or can we just walk-in and rent? 3. Would appreciate if anyone can recommend other alternative ATV rentals in Jeju that is good. I thank you in advance :)
