My Girlfriend and I are about to do a car trip to Spain and the beginning of July. I got a flight gift so we have 2 options: start and finish in Madrid or flying to Madrid and coming back from Bilbao.
We looking for about 10 days trip, 2-3 of them in Madrid. I want to visit some pueblos, maybe driving some beautiful roads and basically enjoy the culture.
So, for the first option (Madrid-Madrid) I'm thinking: Madrid-Segovia-Avila-Salamanca-Valladolid-Burgos-Soria-Teruel-Madrid.
For the 2nd option (Madrid-Bilbao) I'm thinking: Madrid-Segovia-Avila-Salamanca-Leon-Picos de Europa-Santander-Pamplona-San Sebastian
What do you think? Which one is better? For the 2nd option this is to much for 10 days? for the 1st option its not enough for 10 days? Any other places you can recommend for the road?
Also, we prefer not to know exactly where we will be every night so is it a must to book hotels in advance or I will be able to find nice rooms one day in advance?
We'll be arriving to Val de Nuria from Barcelona on a Sunday (we land in Barcelona at 9:30AM). We plan to take the train to Ribes de Freser and from there the Cremallera train to Nuria. I assume we'll get to Nuria around noon, and then we thought about doing the short hike from Nuria to Queralbs along the river gorge.
The following day is a full day for us, so we want to do a longer hike, possibly the GR11.7 - any tips on this route? do you recommend another 1-day hike?
My questions are:
1. Are there any good places to stay in Queralbs, or should we try to stay in Nuria?
2. What are the best 1-day hikes around Queralbs/Nuria?
3. Is there a place in Barcelona where we can store our baggage, before arriving to Val de Nuria?
I'm staying in Zaragoza for one day in July and the only thing I could find was an entire day trip. One bus leaves Zaragoza in the morning and returns in the evening. Is there anyway to go for a shorter amount of time? Is it possible to hire a driver or something like that?
I am searching for how to travel from Blanes to Calafell, using the train line and need to know where to change lines at Barcelona? Many Thanks Amanda
I love Estartit and used to go here loads as a kid. I love the long clean beaches, the bustling night life, the handy supermarkets everywhere and the opportunity for long walks up the mountain. My boyfriend and I are planning our first holiday abroad and I want to go somewhere similar but somewhere new that we can explore together. Any ideas??? Thanks!
We are planning to stay over night near Ripholl. On the next day we shall drive to Estany lakes in north Andorra (through El Pas de la Casa) and from there to the next hotel near Espot. Based on Google it is around 6 hours drive. Since I'm not familiar with the road and traffic conditions in July, should we stick with this plan or shorten the distances?
Thank you in advance :)

I am a British citizen living in USA. I am planning a trip to visit an elderly sick relative living in Javea I will be coming around Sept 22nd for nearly 2 weeks. Can you recommend cheap but OK accomodation. Do I need to rent a car ? If so can you recommend the cheapest ? I appreciate ANY advice you can give Dave
In September 2005 my husband and I paid £825 to book an 8-bedroom villa in Javea for 22nd-29th July this year. It was for a very special family celebration - my parents 40th wedding anniversary. We selected carefully as my father suffers from Parkinsons and two of the children are only 18 months so it is helpful if there are not too many steps to negotiate and, with children, we wanted a good sized garden. We found our dream villa and were assured that everything was confirmed and booked OK and so we all bookedour flights. Early this week we asked about paying the balance only to be told that the villa was not booked for us. We have spent the last few days trying to contact the person who took our money, but she doesn't respond to our emails, phonecalls or texts. So our questions are 1. Any advice on how we get our money back? 2. Anybody out there got the perfect villa for us?
Can any1 help me, i recently visited javea last week and thought it was amazing. on the last night we ate at a restaurante i think was called Restaurante Posito or El Posito, but i'm not sure. It was on the front overlooking the sea. Can anyone tell me if i am correct as does any1 have any pictures of it. this is urgent- tho it may not sound it. thank u
