Im about to travel to Jaipur in June for 6months (on my own) for an internship. the trip advice websites are now saying that parts of India should be avoided as there's high risk of attack espically by the Pakistani border. is Jaipur really safe to go as i want to see all the tourist attractions while i'm there and that's what there saying travelers should avoid or be very cautious of? starting to have severe reservations whether or not i want to still go...can anyone give me advice as to how safe it is? should i ignore the advice? cheers, ker
1. Jaipur is very safe. It is not racked with extremists waging war against the Government of India as in states like Chattisgarh and parts of the North-East. 2. Haven't heard of an attack in Jaipur "by the Pakistani border" in the last few years/decades. 3. Plenty of tourist places to see in and around Jaipur as well as in the entire state of Rajasthan. 4. Don't forgo this golden opportunity which you have been offered. Grab it. Only take normal precautions. 5. After you have had your fill of tourist attractions of Rajasthan, try out Delhi, Agra and other nearby places. 6. Welcome to India. 'Khama Gani', as the Rajputs say!

Ignore this advice regarding 'attacks'. The only danger in Jaipur in June is the weather..........its going to be very hot. There can be up to 40C during the day, and strong possibilty of storms.

Oh I just returned from Jaipur and it is safe. I am sure no place on earth is 100% safe these days. But I loved every bit of Jaipur and the rest of Rajasthan. It is one of the best states of India and you should go ahead in my opinion. Yes like Lynne said the weather is quite hot in June. Since you have 6 months, if you can manage the 1 st two then it should get better later. Have a good trip,

I have been in India and close to 3 bombings including the horrible 26/11 Mumbai attacks. There is as much security as there can be in places such as tourist spots, airports, malls, grocery stores, etc. Jaipur is usually not one of the cities on the "list" when warnings come out and is actually in the middle of the country and not that close to the border. In any case, attacks by the border are not common at all. Jaipur (along with Delhi and Agra) is also part of the most common Indian tourist route, the Golden Triangle. Go and enjoy - just be aware of your surroundings same as you would anywhere - suspicious people, packages left without an owner, etc.
