Well, you're right that the website is under maintenance. They encourage you to post questions on their forum, but I don't see any answers rapidly forthcoming.
Here is an old schedule - sienaweb.it/territorio/trasp...
I don't know how old it is, and while I assume it may be a reasonable rendition of the bus schedule, I don't have feet on the ground.
Notes: "feriale" = Monday through Saturday
"festivo" = Sunday and holidays
"giornaliero" = daily
"da lunedi' a venerdi'" = from Monday to Friday
OK? I hope something comes up soon...

Do I need to buy the ticket in advance? Or just go 30mins in advance will do? I will be travelling in mid/ end July 2013.

Honestly, I took the train (for which no reservations are needed), not the bus. Let's see if someone pops in and answers...or send a message to VT member leics and see if she's taken the bus...she talks about it so I am thinking that she has...

I really believe that your hotel could organise the bus trip for you,,,,,,they have 'travel contacts' - there is also a train that runs to Sienna. Buy ticket on station. Anyway, have a look at this website:
