day boat trip to black sea at end of November?

by oslocairo Online Now May 29, 2012 at 7:40 PM

Hi! I'll be in Istanbul in the last week of November and first week of December. Do the boats still run to the Black Sea for day trips? Sorry if this sounds naive, but I have never been to this part of the world and am not sure what the weather will be like. Thanks.

I'm sure the ferry service will run all year. It is just that - a ferry, rather than a sight seeing boat. The sight seeing boats might run less frequently but if you want to get to the end of the Bosphorus to look at the Black Sea (very impressive it is too) it shouldn't be difficult. By the end of November I'd imagine the weather being very changeable. We missed snow in April by a week and we had bright sunshine. I'd expect the end of November to be much the same as the weather is far from symmetric around the year end. It tends to take a long while to cool down in late Autumn but once cold it takes a couple of months into the Spring to warm up.

Thanks everyone for your helpful information. Taking the commuter ferry is fine with me and cheaper too I imagine. I was hoping that at least that would still be going. Is it really possible for snow at theat time of year?
