I have another question for our trip planning next year. We would prefer to take a bus from Ayvalik to Istanbul on the night of 18 June (Monday) to arrive in Istanbul on the Tuesday morning 19 June. This saves us a day on the bus and gives us an extra day in Istanbul. Am I correct that there is a bus doing that route every night? And the time schedule? I tried to figure it out from the website, but it's all in Turkish. And also, where does the bus stop in Istanbul for us to get to our hotel, Aura Apart, in Sultanahmet? Please, all the info you can give me about the bus?
There are many bus companies operating in that route and all you need to do is to go to the bus terminal to choose the departure hour. For sure, there are buses travelling during the night. The buses stop in two bus terminals in Istanbul. The first one is Harem in Asian side and then Esenler Otogar in European side. You need to step out in the european bus terminal. The bus companies also have service buses to most areas including Sultanahmet. You can ask about that while you obtain your tickets.

Ayvalik (sarimsakli) is our destination for my wife and kids. They cant stop going there every year:)) We use kamil koc, ulusoy and sometimes varan bus companies. always overnight bus. because u arrive about 7 a.m. to ayvalik. i just found varan english pages. prices are the same with others too. i believe my advices nr1 varan, nr2 kamilkoc , nr3 ulusoy ticket.varanturizm.com/scrip... regards

they all have services in the city. but don t know if they cover sultanahmet area. as far as i know ulusoy has ticket sale office in sultanahmet. if they have sale office they should have free service too. regards

hey there..best option is kamil koc overnight bus...I often go there using the same bus company.Also try borajet they have direct flight from sabiha gokcen airport to Edremit... enjoy ur trip...xx

You can take the Havatas shuttle to Kadıköy. After that, you don't need to go to Harem. You can just go to Metro bus... more
whenever you are out of port u ll see so many postcard sellers, be aware of them and get on tram directly to Sultanahmet... more
