I am planning a family holiday to Istanbul in the middle of September. I also want to go to a smaller place away from the big city, where the water is clean and atmosphere relaxed. It should be somewhere on the Marmara Sea, suitable for children, bathing, simple beach activities etc. Any suggestions are welcome!
You should write to local member Steam&Rain, he may be able to help. His name is Omer.

An easy solution is to take the seabus from Yenikapı to Armutlu or Çınarcık. Easy then to get there and the beaches will be nice and quiet in September.

If you like to listen sound of nature I would like to suggest Antalya-Kaş as a researcher about management natural resource. Antalya and its town located Mediterranean Region of Turkey. You can find so clean beaches and historical places and national parks and etc in here. Istanbul too busy city to holiday. You should spend three days to sea some interesting places. In september sea water is still hot in only Mediterranean Region. Have a nice holiday to you. Regards ..rumi

We spent some days at www.tusanhotel.com in Cannakale. Some 300 km distance to Istanbul. Great restaurant with view to the sea. Take a look at my travel page. There is some more information....
