Hye.. I want to ask about the train transportation from attaturk airport to sultanahmet.. what the best route (cheaper and less walking distance)
Looks like Havalimani to zeytinburnu and change to T1 tram to sultanahmet station is the best.. is it right?
Also looking on Havalimani to aksaray and change to T1 tram yuaufpasa to sultanahamet.

yes, you're right, and it seems that it is faster to change in Zeytinburnu (I use it last September). Keep in mind that you need tokens for any line (so you need token to enter in Attaturk airport and then to get T1-tram. On Zeytinburnu station the lines are very close to each other and you just need to pass token point...As far as i remember, the way is 15 minutes around and the trams are quite often, even in night times...

15 minutes for Zeytinburnu-Sultanahmet I've meant... :-)
and 8-10 minutes for the route from the airport to Zeytinburnu...

Alright thanks for the answer you all..
Bugulma, how far zeytinburnu M1 station to zeytinburnu station?
How much the fare right now?

Sesudin the Zeytinburnu tram station and train station are adjacent - super close - less than 50m. The fare is 3TL per tram/train per person (so it would cost you 6TL to get to sultanahmet with the tram and train). You might like to get an IstanbulKart which gives discounts for travel - google for information on this.

Not too many people know that there is subway in istanbul. Why not try this amazing trsport to airport to downtown ??

I always use it - connecting with the tramvay at Zeytinburnu - in fact I'm going to use the same route next week - both trains on the same station, just get into the tram's turnstile. Better buy 2 tokens at the airport metro station so you don't have to buy another one at Zeytinburnu. If you get off at Aksaray - the end of the metro line - you have to walk and up the overpass. I've explained that here:

I was in Istanbul last week, I'm in Hasankeyf right now, moving to Diyarbakir today, and will be back in Istanbul, yes, by next week.
Why don't you post a VT meet request, probably some other VT'ers local or in Istanbul next week will be interested to meet?

It is cheap, but not so fast and not so easy.

Hi
there is no direct access from Atatürk airport to Sultanahmet ..You have to change in Zeytinburnu if you have luggages to take the tram to Eminönü and leave the tram in Sultanahmet ...good luck

Either you get off at Zeytinburnu or Aksaray, they're both passing by almost the same route.
