Never been to elba b4 but going camping there in july. Can you hire a car on the island? Are there reasonable size supermarkets? I am familiar with Corsica & Sardinia but know elba is a bit smaller! Any help appreciated.
hello. I would suggest you rent the car in Piombino (where you take the ferry). I know you can rent scooters on Elba island but i don't know about car rentals actually and i've been there hundreds of times.. concerning supermarkets, sure, the biggest ones are in Portoferraio but you can buy daily food everywhere :)
