      bus vs taxi

San Juan Dec 12, 2014 at 1:09 PM

Arriving at SJU and staying at Coral by the Sea hotel...is there a bus that runs directly to this hotel rather than loading and unloading and paying $1.00 per bag...there are 6 of us plus a child so either has to be a HUGE van with bags or likely easier on bus. Do buses allow luggage?
Can we take bus from hotel to the cruise port or does it require taking more than 1 bus and going for an hour adventure tour?
Buses are 75cents or something...no baggage fee. Just seems such a waste when hotel is not even 5 minutes from airport.

      Getting to/between the islands

Puerto Rico Dec 5, 2014 at 8:51 AM

Planning travel for February. My Fodor's guide makes it sound like a piece of cake to and between Vieques and Culebra from the main island. But my research indicates that it's rather expensive to fly, and that ferries are unpredictable at best, and almost no way to get between the islands without going back to PR.

Can anybody give me any suggestions?

      Where should i stay?

San Juan Nov 23, 2014 at 4:53 AM

I am planning a trip to San Juan for my birthday in December and want to make the most of the 3 nights I will be there. I've been doing research but still can't seem to choose the best hotel with the best beach near the best night life. The most important thing on this trip would have to be beach bc I've never been to an island. I'd like to experience white sand with calm blue waters.

    • Safe and Sound?

by westpain Online Now Feb 3, 2014 at 7:01 PM

My girlfriend and I booked passage to Vieques after visiting Culebra and wanting to go see for ourselves the bio bay and wild life preserve. We are now finding out there is a growing crime element on the island and becoming worried about how safe our stay will be. We are staying for at least a week and we are curious, how can we best avoid getting into trouble and simply enjoy each others company while experiencing as much solidarity as we possible?

If you have, how did you like it. Which hotel did you stay at? Did you rent a scooter or car? Can we use a bicycle for most of our travels on the island?

      Tell me everything?????

      Thanks you,

    • questions about Puerto Rico bound

by vchanley Online Now Jan 24, 2008 at 8:27 AM

I will soon travel to Vajardo and am wondering where is the best place to find local art and crafts to bring home. I know there is a ferry traveling to both Culebra and Viques but am wondering if these are the best islands to travel to buy these crafts. I really would like to experience these local customs while in town. I will be there oonly four days in February.

by mtnmtn143 Online Now Jul 27, 2005 at 9:27 AM

I'm traveling to San Juan in Sept of 05,a cruise and then a week on Vieques.
I'll need a car while in San Juan and one on Vieques so my question is should I rent on at both places or simply drive to Fajardo and ferry one to Vieques and back? Looking for advice and remember "I ain't no rocket scientist" LOL...
      Thanks for any help,
