Hi, I´m going to visit Gran Canaria for a week end of June. I´m now looking for a relaxing calm place (preferably a small town) on the coast - east or west - where I can stay. First I thought of Las Palmas, but it´s a city, supposed to be noisy and also criminal. I thought somewhere with a connection to Las Palmas, but on the east coast or even in the south (with a beach close). I haven´t booked a hotel yet, but I´m looking for something cheap like a pension. I´m not driving, so public services should be withing reach. Thank you for all those who can give me some "insider" advice!!
I've heard a lot of nice things about Puerto de Mogan. It's supposed to be calm, relaxing and beautiful. I've not been there myself yet, but hopefully a visit will take place next February. Have a great trip!

Hi, I visited Gran Canaria on December last. Puerto de Mogan is the last village prepared for the tourists on south. I liked the town very much. There was a quiet and peaceful, but the beach very small. Another town which I liked very much was Amadores with very nice beach, but more noisy. In the season both villages might look differently. You can get there by public transport from the San Telmo bus station located in the center.

Thank you, where is San Telmo, in Las Palmas? From Puerto de Mogan, are there frequently buses to other places, and also to Las Palmas? Public connection is very important for me.

Yes, San Telmo is the bus station in the center of Las Palmas (bus from airport is crossing this station). There is a tourist information where you can get bus deparures / arrivales time schedule for whole Gran Canaria. Yes, there are buses from Puerto de Mogan to other places, sometimes you need to get to Las Palmas and change the bus for further places. As far as I remember the public transport to / from Las Palmas was quite ok.

Thank you. So I go from the airport to San Telmo (do you know which busline?) and from there to Puerto de Mogán in the south of the island?
