    • Transportation and grocery stores as well as pubs/restaurants in Cabo Roja

Cabo Rojo Apr 17, 2014 at 2:13 PM

How much would it cost to take a cab from Cabo Roja to Joyuda or BoquerĂ³n?
Is taxi fare generally expensive, because we do not want to rent a car.
      Is a car definitely needed?
Can you walk to grocery stores, restaurants and bars without needing a car?
Do you need to drink bottled water?
      Thanks
      Gillian

Mosquito Bay - worth visiting in June?

      Vieques Apr 5, 2014 at 6:47 PM

We are planning to visit PR for a week, and want to visit either Vieques or Culebra for a couple of days. I heard on other sites that perhaps the bay is not glowing and no one knows why.

That said, if the main attraction in Vieques may not be visible in June, is Vieques still worth visiting or should we go to quieter Culebra instead?

Thanks in advance for any opinions.

Which part of PR should we stay?

Puerto Rico Apr 3, 2014 at 7:49 AM

Hi there! My boyfriend and I are looking to go to Puerto Rico in May. We will be using our HH Honors points and are having trouble deciding between the Hilton properties in comparison to which part of PR we should stay! We've narrowed it down to:

      • El San Juan Resort & Casino in the Isla Verde District
      • Caribe Hilton in Condado
      • El Conquistador Waldorf Astoria in Fajardo

A beachfront property with a pristine beach is a must -- shops, restaurants and night life not too far away would be ideal, but we're also extremely interested in snorkeling, bioluminescent bay, and horseback riding on the beach.

Has anyone stayed at these properties, or suggest which part of Puerto Rico might be most ideal for us? I'm thinking we'll definitely want to rent a car for everything we want to do. Any advise to help us plan a perfect romantic/fun/adventurous/relaxing/picturesque getaway is so greatly appreciated!

    • Good beach for snorkeling

Puerto Rico Apr 10, 2014 at 10:00 AM

We will be in PR from May 20-May 27, staying in Humacao in the eastern side of the island. Can anyone recommend a beach that has good snorkeling right from the beach? We will have a rental car, so we can drive to different regions. Thanks for any recommendations!

      Romantic small inn/guest house?

by Capedorian Online Now Aug 28, 2008 at 8:36 AM

I am looking for a 1BR/1BA inn or cottage for a three night stay in late January 2009. What I am finding is four catagories. (1) resort-ish small hotels like Tamerindo and Seaborne...(2) Seemingly nice places that are far removed from the beaches and town, like La Casita...(3) Somewhat comfortable and highly rated, but not romantic, guest houses in town, like the Palmetto... (4) Homes with multiple BR/BA that are too large and expensive.

Can anyone suggest a romantic, non-resort-ish, small, near water, with features like an outdoor shower, owners on site, hammock(s), and garden. I really like the idea of having the owners on-site. Palmetto and Hilltop (Casita) are very desirable for that reason. I am really looking for a classic carrib experience, which is why newer, polished, hotels are not a priority.

      I appreciate any comments...

I am going to be camping at Flamenco Beach, but cannot find any information on the storage of personal/valuable objects while camping. Are there storage lockers? Does one take the risk of leaving stuff in a tent? I don't want to swim/hike/sunbathe with my passport/cc/etc stashed in my swimsuit! - Help!
