One day train tours to Northern Ireland from Dublin

by amandajayne81 Online Now Jun 3, 2008 at 12:35 AM

We have a spare day in Dublin in September. I was wondering if there were any train tours that go to Belfast (or even better all the way to the Giant's Causeway)from Dublin and back in the day. Would anyone be able to give me more info/website/prices/etc? Thanks.

    Hiya,

I took a train to Belfast from Dublin before and came back in the afternoon. It took approx. 2 hours to get there. That was over 10 years ago so I am not sure about prices and travel times. You better check www.irishrail.ie.

    Hope this helps!

Looks like a lengthy journey by train, also you need to get to Bushmills to visit the Causeway. Same site will give you bus info too.

Posted previous jumbled table before i realised I could tidy it up!

Irish rail do their own railtours too.....and this includes the Giant's Causeway. You get the train journey, and then a bus tour (where necessary). May well be easier than trying to organise times etc yourself.

Thanks everyone for your helpful suggestions. It looks like a big day but we would be flying home to Australia the next day so it might be achievable. Would love to see Northern Ireland even if it is just a tiny visit.
