is it already possible to pay with credit cards (hotels, restaurants, shops, airport etc.) in Iran?
Or have you still to take all your cash with you?
Hi. I am interested in hearing from Canadians about any recent (ie. last 12 months) experience they have had in applying for an Iranian visa. Were you accepted or rejected ? And were to applying to travel on your own, or with a group tour ? I'm trying to gauge whether Canadians are usually accepted or rejected, and if that acceptance or rejection is based on whether they are applying for individual travel or group travel.
I wanted to know whether vpns are illegal to use or not. Because i kn
I'm planning a trek across Iran from north west to south east. Entering Iran from Kurdistan and exiting south east via Pakistan. I'll be going on foot and walk from town to town. Can anyone advice on what to do and what not to do?
I'm located in Montreal Canada and hoping to visit Iran for 3-4 weeks for solo back-pack style tourism in early 2014. Can anyone advise the best way to get a visa? I have a few iranian friends who can refer contacts in Iran but no one who can help me with the visa. Perhaps a European based agency could provide this service?

I am an Indian living in London. I love travelling and have been to several places (abt 25 countries). However for no other trip I have felt more excited than my Iran trip this year (Sept 2013). I'm eagerly looking forward to be mesmerised and soaked by the beauty of Iran. I plan to spend 2 weeks covering Tehran, Esfahan,..
While I'll have my books to provide most information, I'll consider myself blessed if I can have an enthusiastic local willing to take me around. Books only cover the surface, but locals may also enlighten me with the little nuances, local's favorites, rituals, cuisine, traditions, gossip etc which will help me appreciate Iran and its people better. I'll be happy to pay for the incidental expenses you may incur + you can count on me to be an expert guide at your service if you ever visit London or India (depending on where I am at that time).
Just so you get an idea about me, here are my primary interests with respect to Iran - Architecture, Poetry, History, Culture, Food and most importantly Iranian Cinema. If you personally know Majid Majidi or Peyman Moadi or Asghar Farhadi, I will do anything to win your favour :)
I am planning to travel from Tabriz, Iran, through Erbil, Iraq, to Turkey.
I wonder if anyone out there has crossed the Piranshahr border in Iran to the Iraq Kurdistan region?
Thanks for your time.
Is it any metro or train from Worm to Wiesbaden
I come to know about reliable sources that if some body visits Iran once in his life time than, that person is not allowed to visit gulf , Europe and US countries. Is that is true? Kindly do inform me about that because i want to visit Iran.

I have combed through this Forum, but some threads on this identical topic are out-dated e.g., in 2009 and 2004.
I have also perused Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affair (www.mfa.gov.ir), but fail to find anything relevant; e-Visa facility is still under construction.
So, my question is:
"Has anyone recently obtained double entry tourist visa via VOA? What was your experience?"
I am planning to travel to Armenia and Azerbaijan with Tabriz, Iran, being my home base. Given Nakhchivan (Azerbaijan) and Armenia do NOT share a single border, I feel I need to go in and out of Iran. Any thoughts?
Me, my boyfriend and probably two other friends would like to visit Iran in the end of this year and go there without a guided tour which is often recommended. I am a German citizen and my boyfriend is Swedish. We wondering two things; 1. we are thinking of getting tourist visa with the help of an agency and are wondering if it is difficult to get it approved?
2. is it safe to travel without a guided tour (we would go to bigger cities and rather not to very conservative small places)?
My parents are Iranian, but I've been born and raised in Toronto, Canada all my life and have never stepped foot in Iran. I'm planning to go this summer by getting a tourist Visa (it would be the fastest way, about 6 weeks, compared to getting an Iranian passport which would take a few months). But I've been told by several people that since both my parents are Iranian they will reject my tourist visa application. Is this true?
I am travelling to Iran this summer with my 2 years old son. I am not sure if I can rent Car seat and stroller for two weeks. anyone has any idea?
Since we are not staying long I don't want to buy new..Appreciate your help.
I am looking to fly between Tashkent in Uzbekistan and Tehran in Iran. I can see that there is a flight but not the approximate price. Does anyone have any advice?
transport from Sanandaj to Kermanshah via Howraman valley
1. Is this feasible in one day, if leaving early and arriving late?
2. How to do it best? Is it possible to hire a taxi or 4WD from Sanandaj to Kermanshah, which would go through Howraman, with a few stops along the road? Only the "easy" route via Dalani/Nosud or also the more difficult (and more spectacular?) road through Howraman-at-Takht?
Thanks a lot also for any suggestions of a driver / agency in the region who could help me with that.
I am in Indian want to visit Tehran Iran... can you please help me with the cheapest hotel in Iran. my budget is 2000.00 Indian Rupees per night. my traveling dates are 18th November and return to India on 2nd December.
i do not have much money.... if you can help me to understand what will be the budget to spend 14 days in Tehran.
I have been doing research to make the most of our trip to Iran. I realize that there are many km to travel and have a rough itinerary . Just wanted to know how feasible it is for a month of travel. Land in Tehran spend 3 days, (as long flight from western Canada , get in at 1-2 am so will need a rest day) and time to explore then head to Qazvin and the Alumut valley. Then we would like to go to the Katalekhor caves(2 days). continue to Zanjan/Tariz(2 days) Go to Zoroastran temple Takht e Soleiman and the Karaflu caves(1-2 days?) Head to Bisotun (1? day) Go to Choqa Zanbil ( 1 or 2 days with the driving time) Shiraz and Persepolis(2-3 days) possibly fly to Bandar Abbas and ago to the Geopark/ Harra sea forest (2 days)fly back to Shiraz and go to Bam area 2 days, Yazd 2 days Esfahan 3 days then back to Tehran. Thats 25 days and we have lee way for extra time if needed for travelling. If we like a place maybe stay longer. Any feed back would be appreciated.
Hello, I'm planning to travel to Iran with my 13 year old son in June/July. Thinking of flying to Istanbul and then get the train from Ankara to Tehran. We are both gonna be travelling on Swiss Passports.
1. I'm a little concerned about the current political climate. Don't want to be in Iran with my child and Israel decides to attack. What are the chances?
2. Can i get a visa on the bordercrossing travelling by trans asia railway?
Any input is appreciated. Thanks
Is possible to buy iranian navigation maps for Garmin and where?
I live in Slovenia.
is there any body who has planned to go nature around shiraz ?
I see the chance to buy the relatively cheap plane tickets in July/August to Teheran. My first concern is the climate- I don't like temperature above 25C-30C. Sightseeing is almost impossible in such weather conditions for me. Hence would it be wise to plan a trip in this season of the year? I'm constrained by school holidays period.
My girlfriend (an Iranian with dual US citizenship) would like me to accompany her on her next visit to Iran so I can meet her family. The length of stay is estimated to be 3 weeks. However, it looks as though I can only get a visa if I am part of a tour group. Is there any way around this ?
Hello, my friends. I intend to travel in Iran by own car-motorhome from Ljubljana, Slovenia through Turkey.
