My traveling partner and I will be in Ios for 3 days in mid Sept. We are looking for suggestions of where to stay and what to see while there. We are 2 females in our mid 20's and enjoy daytime relaxation or sight seeing but also enjoy a nightlife atmosphere. What are the best areas of the island to stay in? Is it best to reserve a hotel or figure that out upon arrival? Any other suggestions on restaurants, bars, sights, etc. Thank you!
My senior class is trying to decide whether we should go to ios or crete. We are looking for somewhere that will be busy in May and have a lot of wild parties. Does anyone know which one of these two will be more appropriate for our purposes?
Hi, I am looking for accommodation (hostel style) on Ios in a couple of weeks and being a complete idiot I forgot to book any accommodation. I am looking for about a week starting from 14th or 15th August. I am an Aussie guy 25 y.o. from Perth who is very easy to get along with. Any suggestions or people who have a spare bed would be much appreciated. If Ios is out of the question can anyone suggest another greek island that will provide a similar experience as Ios? Cheers in advance Bart
Hi, I'd like to ask if there are any Gay Bars and Clubs, Cruising areas, or Nude Gay Beaches in Ios or in the worst case some "Gay Friendly" places that something good can happen! :) I am going there on 20th of August and i'd appreciate some advice! Thanks! :)
hey everyone, myself and five friends are heading to ios on the 10th july until 24th! we are flying into santorini airport, arriving late in the evening! after much research, it seems to me that we will have to wait for a connecting ferry to ios until around 4am....would i need to book my tickets for the ferries now or will i be able to buy them before getting on the ferry? i guessed that nowhere will be open at that hour to book? also, some friends will be in crete at the same time as we are in ios...would a trip over to cretye be possible (and easy) to organise transportation wise?!? any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
Hi there ! Has anyone been to Ios, Greece Islands, lately and stayed at or been to Far Out Village and/or Purple Pig Stars Camping???.... I can't decide where to stay and would like some more info on the bungalows at each of the resorts/camping grounds. Purple Pig don't really have many photo's so wondering if they had a seaview and in general if it is a good place to stay. A contact email would be good to as they haven't answered my emails.... And has anyone stayed at Far Out Village in the bungalows.... would love to hear from anyone with ideas. Cheers.
Hi everyone. We're going to be in Greece for a month May 2006. In our excitement over booking hotels, we forgot to make sure we could travel between our chosen islands and are having trouble connecting buses and ferries. 1. Has anyone travelled in may ( may 18th for us)from Crete to Ios? I found a KTEL bus to take us to Heraklion for 8am, then a Blue star ferry 8:15am to Piraeus, and later to Ios to arrive at 1:05am on the 19th. I'm worried about having only 15 minutes in Heraklion before the ferry leaves... is this possible to do? How much in advance do we need to be at the ferry terminal? Is there a better, more direct option? I'd be grateful for any advice on this!!

i have looked at many timetables for ferries on the internet and they all seem to contradict each other! whats for sure - is that there seems to be a ferry to santorini each day. my question is: can anyone tell me how frequent the ferrys are from santorini to IOS ? is there a morning and an afternoon service? i am coming in september. thanks!! :-)
Me and two friends are arriving late on the 4th of june to Santorini airport and we figure that we will have to stay the night at Santorini and the next day continue to Ios. Though, we would like to book a cheap hotel in advance, just so we know eher to go when we arrive, do any of you have any suggestion? I am also wondering from where the ferry goes to Ios, is it in Ioa or where????? Thanks!!! /Yohanna
