Would November be a busy period for hotels in Interlaken? I'm not sure if the rate would be cheaper to book one over the Internet now or wait till I reach Switzerland (I will be staying in Lausanne for about 3 days first), then book while I am there?
I was in the berner oberland in november three years ago. It was not particularly busy. I stayed in Lauterbrunen above Interlaken at valley hostel, although I payed extra for a very nice private double room with shared kitchen(64 chf). It was the best budget option as eating out in switzerland is expensive. Here you are actually in the Alps with great views and waterfalls all around, but it was quiet. I found the info in Rick Steves helpful. I liked the castle near Montreux and the ride to Interlaken is amazing. I think you need to get up extremely early for the best views in the Alps in November.
