Hi I am travelling to Lombok in May. My difficulty is being a first timer there is so much I want to see. Is it worthwhile travelling around the island and staying in different accommodation, or just doing day trips and basing myself in senneggi? I would like to see the waterfalls, do a couple of surfing lessons, go to spas and the markets, and do a horse ride on the beach. Would it be worthwhile hiring a car and going around the island? Anyone done this and can give me tips to stay, places to see? I will also be going to the gilis for a few days- is gili t the most worthwhile?
Hi, we are travelling to Ubud in early May. What would you recommend as the best white water rafting, cooking class and spa options? We are spending 6 days there.

Every 2 year my wife gives me a leave pass for up to 8 weeks to go travelling rough. I love it and she hates it. I am a very fit 58 Australian male and have hitch hiked in Europe, USA, Middle East and Africa. I am interested in hitch hiking in Indonesia (not interested in Bali). Would love to hear from anyone who has done so.... places to visit, cheap accommodation ( i have slept on cardboard and concrete) tips etc. would be much appreciated.

Starting May 2014 visiting Bromo will become much more expensive, according to what we read in the newspaper "Jawa Pos".
The government has decided to raise the entrance fee for the National Park (not including jeep tour and horse trip) by several hundred percent, and to set a different tariff for weekdays and for holidays.
For foreign tourists the fee was Rp 57,000 per person; this will become Rp 267,000 on weekdays and Rp 400,500 during weekends and holidays.
Local tourists (including foreigners holding a residence permit) used to pay Rp 10,000. This will become Rp 37,500 on weekdays and Rp 52,500 during weekends and holidays.
The tariffs include a Rp 2,500 insurance fee.

Hi, my husband and I are planning a 10 day trip to Indonesia from India. We would like our itinerary to include Bali, hiking up Mt. Bromo and visiting Borobudur. We'd also love to be able to visit Lake Toba and the Bukit Lawang orangutan rehab centre if possible. Neither of us loves loud parties or touristy beaches so suggestions of quiet beaches in Bali/Lombok are welcome. I need help planning an itinerary together with details on ideal transport to use to travel between destinations. Thanks!

As far as I know Nyepy this year will be on 31st March
Actually I have a travel plan where I didn´t consider to be in Bali for the Nyepy
I have some questions :
- Is it the Nyepy, and the day before, an opportunity and very interesting to see and to live, that is worth to change our travel plans to be there those days ?
- Nyepy day, I understand is a day when we must stay in the hotel and we can not do any activity
- Is it Ubud the right place to be during these days ?
- What are we expecting to see and to do during Nyepy days ?
Thank you for your information

how is the weather in August at Komodo. We want to arrange a day tour to Komodo, I know that from Labuan Bajo to Komodo there is about 3 hours way by boat, and our child suffer from seasickness. What is the rate(charges)by bus, train, and taxi from Kualanamu Airport to Medan City? Also, between what times do they operate, and the frequency of the service? Thanking you.
Like many people, I would like to do the classic itinerary Yogyakarta-Bromo-Iljen, but without arranged tours and preferring the train. Here are the steps and information I found so far, but I would be glad to have some remarks/confirmations from people who have done the same way.
The best would be to take the executive train from Yogyakarta to Surabaya. It leaves at 7:15 and arrives at 12:15. The first train to Probolinggo leaves at 1:50pm so to save time we would take a taxi to the bus station; bus are supposed to be frequent to PB, but how frequent? After a 2-3 hour ride, find a public minibus to Cemoro Lawang, leaving when full. I hope to arrive at Cemoro Lawang before 6pm. Find the hotel and book the jeep for the next morning.
After the sunrise and the Bromo walk, the jeep is supposed to get us back to the hotel around 8:30-9:00. Then we need to find a public minubus which goes to Probolinggo. The train to Banyuwangi leaves PB at 11:06, but do we have enough time to get it? Has anyone already made it? I guess the alternative is to find a public bus to Banyuwangi; are there such bus with A/C? When in Banyuwangi, find a hotel close to Paltuding and book transportation for the next morning (car with driver, who would take us from the hotel to Paltuding and wait until we come back to drive us back to the hotel).
Thank you very much for your help.
My group of friends (total 8 adults) will be visiting Bandung in April for 4 days. We'll be staying at Jl Progo. It is our 1st visit & we're looking for a reliable car/driver. I received a quote for 500,000rps for airport transfer & shopping for 1st day & 1 mil rps per day for trips to the volcanos. We were given a Toyota Avanza & Isuzu Elf. As I do not know much abt cars, is the Toyota Avanza able to seat 8 adults? Also is the cost reasonable? Any advice you can give would be much appreciated.
I have just emailed Aldhy for his availability/cost. I note that you had recommended him highly.
