I have traveled from the states to Mexico, Europe and hotter cities such as vegas, and I am wondering if there is a way to pack your suitcase in a way that keeps your clothes from sweating. I know that when in route your suitcase is sometimes in blistering temperatures. And after unpacking my clothes feel damp and tend to not smell very "fresh". Do you think putting brown paper or something in between or around clothes would prevent that?

Try putting them into vacuum pacs.
It also saves space.

yes very hot and muggy there I was both in surabaya and jakarta recently and after a couple of hours it was not nice. For the clothing the locals told me to put them in food wrappers sheets as layers on your suitcase.
I will need to try it next time myself.

How about putting a few mothballs in your suitcase too? And i agree with vacuum packs , good idea!

pack light, and buy new stuff when needed. I have a 4 day turnaround on clothes, every fourth day it is washed and repacked fresh. plastic bag and turn over, nothing too smelly in my sack.

I've traveled a fair bit in hot and humid climates and not had this problem. I always take the plastic dry cleaning bags from hotels when I'm traveling. They are nice and thick, and perfect for keeping dirty laundry separate from clean clothes. If I put something in my bag that isn't totally dry I will once again put it in plastic and then unwrap immediately upon arrival, hanging it over a chair or bed railing to dry. I do the same for swimwear, even if it's dry, as I find it often has a bit of an oceany smell. Last summer I was backpacking for seven weeks and did stuff a couple of dryer sheets into a plastic bag inside my pack, thinking I could take them out if my bag got a little smelly, but I didn't ever sense a need for freshening. So, plastic, plastic, plastic!

Well, on second thought, the mothballs might make finding your suitcase in the luggage pick-up area easier.
